Let's make this clear: Mr. Oshio NOT being prosecuted for manslaughter of the 30-year old fellow drug user. He is being prosecuted for personally consuming "a few" ecstacy tablets. And 18 months in the slammer seems a little excessive for taking some party drugs, in my opinion. BTW, I'm not defending Mr. Oshio - he is a coward for not calling for help for the woman.

I honestly think people defending him here do not understand / have heard what has been reported. He actually tried to give her CPR himself, he didnt call the ambulance, he tried to sort it out himself, because he didnt want to tarnish his name. Yes the girl was a hostess, maybe even a 'whore'. Probably not a lot different to a lot of the attractive 18-25 year old females that are in Roppongi hills residences or Midtown right now with some hedge fund manager / actor / son of politician / politician. Yeah she may well be a little slut that just hangs out with guys for the money and or prestige. But did she need to die just so that this guy could continue with his privileged life? Did this lady's parents need to go through the unimaginable hell of losing a daughter just so he could could continue his career as an 'actor-singer'? I think not. I dont care that he took drugs. I dont care that he broke the law. What he did was very different to seeing someone on the street passed out and not helping that person. He was alone with the lady, he knew she was in trouble, he knew she could die and he didnt call an ambulance. He didnt call an ambulance because he is a sniveling little disgrace of a human being, that values his own image above that of a human life. He needs to be punished.

?? Work this one out. Nori-P's husband (another little shit) got busted for possession (not a huge amount), yet pleaded guilty to the cops from the start and they want to give him 2 years. Oshio (the biggest shit), lied through his teeth until he couldn't get away with his lies to the cops anymore. They also found a dead girl in his apartment (who is charging Oshio with responsibility ?) and they want to give him 18 months ??

The moral of this story is (how the Japanese cops love to have some moral example), lie through your teeth to the cops and deny everything, throw an unexplained dead body in there as well and you'll get a lighter sentence.

When I look into Oshio's eyes... I imagine an inhumanity we could only define as madness that had been imprinted in some strains of the Japanese genetic code. An abnormal burst of solar rays etched a foreign, insectoid trait into the DNA of a few destiny defiled Japanese. Slow, aeon-paced transformations carved out the inner essence of the human leaving only the visible unchanged. Unseen, a twitching, chittering indifferent mantis-psyche crouches bloated full of it's soul feast. Inside, an echo of humanity in the slaughterhouse of the human mind is a wailing ghost wringing unborn memories from the spirit-offal. Oshio isn't using his eyes to see you. Oshio isn't there. Something is peering through the souless eyes at you. A pure, alien instict observing it's next host.

I think it's disgusting that this guy was charged with using MDMA but wasn't charged with negligent homicide! What kind of screwed up justice system is that?! If he took 'a few tablets' then he would have been pretty impaired. But again, if it's his first offense, he's likely to get off with a suspended sentence. Disgraceful!

That's just another example of how corrupted this soulless society is. this guy, rich, a dirty drug-user and on top of that a liar..can just get away with 18-month sentence or perhaps just a slap on the wrist (suspended sentence) due to his actor-singer status. This is JAPAN, honey..Here money talks and if you are rich, you'll always get away with it. This douchbag piece of horse manure left this woman to die all alone. He took this woman to his apartment, did with her what he had to do(SEX)and left her naked dying and foaming from the mouth for the whole world to see...meanwhile he was somewhere else hiding his sorry ass. He treated her like most of the Japanese men treat women. Just like a piece of garbage. Her life was not worth saving according to his very well imprinted way of thinking. He's just the typical Jpn guy. period. The woman died, end of story. Of course, I hope this animal gets hell and wakes up screaming every night. He should commit suicide.

He wasnt 'whacked out' - he tried to resucitate her. He tried to do it himself rather than calling an ambulance so as not to get the police involved. Agreed Miyaratmosphere - I dont want him to kill himself though, Im sure there's a few guys in prison right now that are quite excited by the prospect of a young-ish, effeminate weakling being confined with them.

Such severe penalties for simple drug use most certainly inhibited a more timely response by this individual. If the drugs they used had been legal, say alcohol, or the penalties for drug use more lenient, he probably wouldn't have hesitated to make a call. However, that may or may not have saved her.
