I really want to say. Give the girl and her family a break.
From all of this sorry, I really hope people will refrain taking drugs in Roppongi.
helloklitty at 05:29 PM JST - 18th September
But she financially supports dangerous criminals by buying drugs from them. We don't need that and she needs to be severely punished.
dolphingirl at 07:04 PM JST - 18th September
kamakuradude: Agreed! Taking drugs is not necessarily a bad thing and she's definitely not a dangerous criminal. What has happened to her as a result of taking drugs is what scares me. The drug laws here are strict beyond reason; based on the false belief that ALL drugs are bad and ALL people who do them are bad. Very narrow-minded indeed!
Unfortunately, I doubt that the drug laws will change any time soon so if you're in the mood for taking some mood-mind-altering substance...yeah, it's a good idea to stay away from Roppongi and if you do have some on you, put it in your underwear! Be well and be safe!

Seriously man. Hardcore druggie household? You obviously have no experience with hardcore users, or else you would know that Sakai is nothing more than a very casual user.
You would be surprised.

"5 million yen bail"
For that minicule amount of meth? Heck, some of the people I worked with would never make bail considering the amount of meth they used.
"she will be hospitalized"
That's the best way to lose weight. Heck, I lost 5 kilos in a week in the hospital!

Unfortunaly, this is not going to stop smithinjapan and others to go on their usual "celebrities get off lightly" diatribe.
Memorex at 06:43 PM JST - 19th September
Man, let her snort it up! Sounds like she was enjoying it.
Sarge at 06:50 PM JST - 19th September
"Let her snort it up!"
I don't recommend that.
Memorex at 06:58 PM JST - 19th September
Don't we all finacially support dangerous criminals just by being consumers of everyday things? It would be naive to think those big wigs in those big companies are not snorting the odd line or two of charlie or speedie ice.

Legalize drugs and then nobody will be financing criminals

Seems a lot of people haven taken sides polarizing between Sakai Noriko as a serious criminal and drug user vs light drug user who should be left alone to get her life together. Have you been reading the rest of the news?
The most recent one of her villa being burned down...are some of you going to come up with an accusation that it was to destroy further evidence of drug use there as well?
As for other news, how about the Nestle executive driving under the influence of alcohol? Or perhaps the 37 year old Fukuoka woman arrested under suspicion of killing a 2 and 5 year old?
Sakai Noriko may have been a popular actress/singer, but are you ready to "burn her as a witch" simply because you are so against drug use? Can't you simply wait until the court system decides her guilt/punishment? Or have you already made up your mind based on news and other "rumors"?
It's time to take a serious look at your life and imagine what your neighbors may think of you if you were arrested? I'm sure many may not think highly of you and start spreading suspicious rumors simply because police took you into custody. Isn't that how you think how life works?
I highly doubt ANY of you could handle the life of a celebrity much like Michael Jackson suffered before his untimely death.

What has frightened me most about the Noriko case is what others have said about it.
NoriPfan at 02:16 PM JST - 20th September
You are not included in that, you make perfect sense. But you are right when you mention the burning of witches, that does so closely fit with the way people are talking. Normally we don’t get to see what goes on in our fellow man’s / woman’s mind, but this case seems to have bought out the worst in so many, it is frightening to realise just how some of you think. You pontificate out of ignorance & are proud of the fact that you know nothing about what you speak.
So many have condemned the media for their excessive pack like treatment of this issue yet also go on to accept it & maybe even believe all that they are reading. When it comes to the treatment of drug users, Japan is a backward country & it would seem that they have a lot of support from a lot of foreigners in their backwardness.

So, no one noticed the mustache she was sporting during her apology? She had her hair done, make up and went over her lines, but she could not get her whiskers trimmed or shaved? For shame, where is the professionalism?
womanforwomen at 08:22 AM JST - 22nd September
It was quite noticable but it is very rude to talk about it.

Latest update: A picture of Noriko Sakai's burnt home is now available on the Japan Times online. So awful and sad. The media treats it as a "drug house".
Her second home looks very, very beautiful!!!
