Akita man arrested for making 30 nuisance calls a day for two months

Police on Tuesday arrested a 34-year-old man for making nuisance phone calls to a 63-year-old man for two months in Akita Prefecture. Satoshi Nagasawa, 34, who lives in Daisen City, was arrested for allegedly calling a 63-year-old man in Akita City between March and May.

According to police investigations, Nagasawa found the victim’s number in a classified ad in a local newspaper, and called him about up to 30 times a day. The two have never met each other. The victim suffered a stomach ulcer due to stress from the calls.

Police identified Nagasawa because he had called from his mobile phone. Nagasawa was quoted by police as saying, “I was stressed out and just wanted to cause trouble for someone.”

I just really don't get these people (thank goodness, means I'm mostly normal then, I guess)...

If I'm stressed or irritated, which these idiot types say to "explain" their behaviour, I can't see how making prank calls over and over or stabbing someone would make me feel better. Some kind of disconnect is prevalent in Japanese society... possibly too many factors contribute in the molding of these type of people that make it impossible to change...

Yeah, I agree, it would be a good idea to get a new phone number; especially if you don't have many family members, friends, or business associates to tell your new phone number to.

That would be the best option. Unfortunately, most 63 year-olds are not up to speed with the latest technology. I'm sure many of them don't even know how to operate a cell phone, and think pagers are still in use.

Didn't think to ask the people you pay for phone service if there was any way to block the calls? You pay them and they know how to set these things. You are a victim of idiocy yes but are also an idiot yourself.
