Aomori man arrested for allegedly beating 6-year-old son to death
AOMORI —
Police in Aomori have arrested an unemployed 34-year-old man over the death of his six-year-old son.
The suspect—identified as Hiroyuki Kudo—is accused of beating his son about the face and stomach repeatedly at their home in Hamadate between Dec 11 and Dec 15, Fuji TV quoted police as saying. Kudo called police just after 2 p.m. on Thursday and admitted killing his son, but gave no motive.
Kudo lived together with his wife, daughter and son, Fuji said.

Unemployed, go figure, maybe if Dad was working he wouldn't have had the time to beat his son to death. Bad economy, equals rising crime rate.

Employed or not means nothing with those crimes,, those are just added to get reactions like yours to generate hits for sites like JT, BBC, CNN, etc..
Yes, unemployment adds stress as does having to work plenty of over-time to make the bosses happy. And where is he a foreigner?

Why do they so often call police after they have done the deed? That seems to be a common trait in these sorts of crimes in Japan.

Oh my dog! This is becoming an every day event! I read this headline and thought it was the one from yesterday!

No doubt they think it will lessen their sentence, along with the usual talk of what he did being "regrettable", "unfortunate" etc. And it may just do that. I can only hope that this maggot is executed, however unfortunately the beating to death of a child is not considered a grave enough crime here. Shoot a politician over a business grudge - sure, execute him - torture and kill a child - 20 years then back out.
Rest in Peace little angel - never again to see that evil monster who tormented you for so long.

Actually the occupation is added in most cases in Japan and in plenty of other countries.
He isn't but the NPA like to issue stats to show foreign crime is on the rise, rather than ALL crime. The focus is put on foreign crime, this is to reassure the public that Japan is still a safe country. Never mind that many of the crimes are for visa violations, it still paints the outside crime trying to infiltrate Japan image.

Sorry, the NPA and their statistics are 100% off-topic. Not sure what your aim is here besides being anti-japan.

They call because, they want to be in jail. I think. Its easier. Afterall, most are interverts anyway..

Or maybe they call because they realised they did wrong and got the "Gonads" to face up and take their punishments like a man should. Or they could hide and run like a coward.
Just looking at it from another angle? In the end it is our personal call to face our failings and fess up or run trying to escape what we did..

@ It's Me - I seriously hope you are not suggesting the possibility that this scumbag is not a coward? There is no bigger coward in all of Japan than this trash. Turning yourself in after beating a defenceless little child to death means absolutely nothing.

Burakumin.
Not saying he ain't trash.
But how many of the tough talking, "we can't do no wrong" crowd here would turn themselves in? Would You? Or how many would try to run and hide their crime?
No need to reply but we all should know our limits and what we would do in any given situation.

@ ITS ME - I'm pretty certain no-one here would ever stoop to the depravity of torturing and bashing a little boy to death. I pray that's the case, anyway. So turning oneself in is a moot point.

No it isn't a moot point. If a poster did a hit & run(much more plausible) which would you expect them to do. Like I said it is about fessing up, we all got our flaws and can do stupid and un-towards things given the right circumstances.
But I bow to you that you are above those mortal failings. Peace.

Another day, another dead kid at the hands of his parents... When is Japan going to wake up to this issue and do something about the child welfare laws??

Okay everybody, give me all my 'thumb downs'.....I dont care. The POS doesn't deserve jail time and rehab. So there!

Anyone who hurts a kid should be punished severely.
If this were the US the guy would not last long in prison.

Nah, mate! You have that wrong. They do it because they know how Japanese law works. If you confess your crime and show regret you get a slap on the wrist and are free to bully your next victim that cannot fight back.

I guess it's easy for some Japanese fathers to just beat the crap out of their kids here than to take out their stress on an adult who might just beat the crap out him.

@Gurukun -
Interesting. Over on the "unemployed dad drops his 1 year old off the balcony" thread everyone advocating an eye for an eye is getting labelled as "primitive" and being thumbed down over and over.
Here on this thread you advocate an eye for an eye and get 5 thumbs up.
What is the difference, I wonder?
Just for the record one of the thumbs up was me and I totally agree with you. Screw "understanding their stress", POSs like this who beat up on little kids because of their inability to be a grown up and control themselves deserve everything they get. Jail and rehab is too good for them.

I simply can´t wrap my mind around stories like this. My children are the best thing in my life. Sure, 6-year old boys can be annoying sometimes (not to mention 16-year olds), but how in the world can you kil your child? Just incomprehensible.

How come mom and sis did nothing to stop it?

Nicky, I'm all about the eye for an eye mentality. However, I usually get torn apart on threads when I post my thoughts, to include the death penalty. But, when I read stories about parents/adults harming children, that's where I have to draw the line. This dad inflicted pain on a child over a 5 day period. He better thank his lucky stars that I didn't live next door to him because he wouldn't be alive to get jail time and rehab.

The child was not necessarily an "angel", but certainly hadn't done anything by age 6 that would justify being beaten to death. Psycho Dad deserves a LOOONNNGGG stretch behind bars - and no ability to be alone with kids again once (if) he does get out.
