Assistant fire dept sergeant arrested for assault, property damage
TOKYO —
An assistant fire department sergeant has been arrested for assault and property damage following an incident outside a drinking establishment, police said Thursday.
According to eyewitnesses, 28-year-old Shota Mizuno set off three fire extinguishers in a corridor outside a drinking establishment located on the basement floor of a building in Shinjuku at around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, NTV reported. Police say Mizuno then allegedly assaulted a member of the staff who attempted to intervene.
Accotrding to NTV, Mizuno, an assistant sergeant based at Komae fire station, was quoted by police as saying, “I was drunk and I don’t remember anything, but if it is true, then I am very sorry.”
A police spokesperson said that Mizuno is to be charged with assault and property damage.

“I was drunk and I don’t remember anything, but if it is true, then I am very sorry.” Isn't that what Nixon said about the Watergate break-in?

One of our dummies sprayed a fire extinguisher in a bar once. When it hit the A/C unit and covered 5 pool tables, the damages came out to 2,000,000 yen.
That got the companies attention.

Being a fireman, maybe he was just testing out the extinguishers? That's the story I'd be telling anyway.

He's already said he's very sorry, so he'll get a suspended sentence. That's IF this case even goes to trial.
