TSU —
A man broke into a railway station and stabbed an assistant stationmaster on night duty in Kuwana, Mie Prefecture, early Monday morning, police said. Hideaki Ogura, 56, assistant stationmaster at Kuwana Station on Kintetsu Corp’s Nagoya Line, was taken to hospital and is not in a life-threatening condition, police said.
Police said Ogura woke up in the night-duty corner of the stationmaster’s office after hearing a noise shortly after 4 a.m. Monday. The intruder demanded money from Ogura at knifepoint. Following a brief struggle, the intruder stabbed Ogura in the left of his chest and on the right elbow before fleeing from the scene empty-handed. Police described the man, who wore a dark-colored jumper, as around 50 years old and about 165 centimeters tall.

If you don't read Japantoday you would still think Japan is a crime-free country.

Nasty wee crime that. The poor guy will be traumatised, especially if he is asked to do night shift again. I hope they catch the cowardly scum who did this.
