Atsugi City Hall in Kanagawa Prefecture and six high schools in the area received bomb threats on Friday, resulting in the evacuation of hundreds of people, police said Saturday. However, no explosive devices were found, Fuji TV reported.
According to police, the threats were posted on an Internet bullet board at 2:30 a.m. Friday, saying bombs would go off in city hall and at six schools at 3:34 p.m.
About 650 city hall employees and neighboring residents were evacuated to a nearby park while the building was searched but no bomb was found.
The six schools canceled classes for the afternoon, but no bombs were found in any of the buildings.

Probably a copycat of the bomb threat that Kwansei Gakuin university got (which was all over the news, but didn't get a mention on JT). Again, most likely a student who wanted a golden week holiday.

I am sure that the Japanese telephone system is advanced enough to trace said call? if its a land line there hung drawn and quartered and if its a mobile it could be a bit more difficult.

Public wi-fi or pay phones. It sounds like something a student would do for a chance to miss class.

Wow, very close to a U.S. military installation too. So many lives in danger even though there was no actual explosive device.
