2 men spray irritant in Bic Camera's Shinjuku store

TOKYO —

Police and firefighters were called to the West Shinjuku branch of electronics retailer Bic Camera on Sunday night, after emergency services received a call saying there was a strange odor coming from the men’s toilets on the fourth floor.

Police are looking for two men accused of spraying an irritant in the men’s toilets after 7 p.m. A male customer who was using a cubicle at the time told police that a man called out to him, saying he had left his cell phone in the cubicle. The customer passed the phone over the top of the door, and one of the men sprayed the gas, believed to be a mace or other irritant. The customer suffered minor injuries to one of his eyes.

Police said that there were about 40 people on the fourth floor at the time of the incident, but that no one else was injured.

Which one of the two did the spraying? Or were there two men in one of cubicles, and one of the two did the spraying?

Police and firefighters called beacause of a strange odor coming from the men's toilets?! That's hilarious! Not to make light of this (a man did suffer minor injuries to his eye) but really...! Must have been a slow night. Probably a couple of teenagers pulling a prank.

I've used the bathroom in BIC Shinjuku before. It was sub-third world. The order that the men(s room had in it. I kept the door open and some BIC no brain came in behind me to close it. That place is disgusting. Truly terrible. Anything would be an improvement.

That is the reason why I only use self contained handi-cap toilets.
