WAKAYAMA —
Police said Wednesday a body found on a mountain in Kimino, Wakayama Prefecture, last Sunday, has been identified through DNA tests as Yukie Egawa, 32, who had been missing since June 25. According to police investigations, Egawa left her office around 3:30 p.m. on June 25 and was reported missing by her husband, 30, the next day.
Police said Egawa’s car was found on June 30 in Negi City, where she lives, but her handbag, containing her wallet and mobile phone, has not yet been found. Police believe she was killed at the end of June, but have not yet determined the cause of death.

Not that easy to get data from a rotting corpse.
This is NOT the CSI Tv-Show where they solve crimes within days, never mind that a forensic guy can interogate and arrest people.
If you know true forensics, they rely a lot on maggot, etc data to determine time of death.

Tons of "Cold Cases" worldwide and many cases take years to get resolved.
