Body parts found at concrete recycling plant in Nagasaki

Police in Nagasaki said Saturday that human body parts have been found in recycled concrete rubble at a plant.

According to police, a worker contacted police to report that objects resembling human hands had turned up at the Saikai Quarry in Nagasaki at around 5 p.m. on Friday, Fuji TV reported.

Police confirmed Saturday that a hand and an arm had been found at the scene.

Police say the body parts were discovered on a conveyor belt, used for separating concrete rubble as it is broken down for recycling. The condition of the limbs indicated that they had, until recently, been encased in concrete, police said. Due to the size of the limbs, police believe them to be those of an adult. It is thought that the concrete was sourced from within Nagasaki.
