I'm curious as to the parents' "scolding". I'm not for locking up anyone unnecessarily, but the kid HAS to be made to know of the gravity of what he's done. I hope the judge is right and the kid has a chance to reform himself.
Good. If the kid thought this would work as revenge then to hell with him. I'm glad the judge actually decided to give him some sort of punishment. Good to know in this day and age that some people in Japan, aside from foreign sumo wrestlers, can get punished when doing something illegal. Mind you, I doubt the 19-year-old sumo kid will get reform school. He'll be doing hard time for the .368 grams of dried leafy substance and marijuana they found in his wallet.
junior high school student hijacked the bus to get even with his parents
Wow, if this kid had enough guts to hijack a bus he could have just as easily stabbed his parents with a knife instead (so they would get the point of his anger)HeHeHe. Sorry I couldn't resist, but with all the stabbings going on in JT news the last two weeks what can I say.
This kid needs alot of time with a Shrink before ever being let out again.
this boy was courting a girl and has been rejected many times but he is an obnoxious persistent unrelenting teen-ager. Finally the girl thought of a plan that if the boy gives her a huge amount of money then he will quit. However, the boy began borrowing or demanding money from friends instead and the incident has been reported to his parents. His parents got furiously mad that they said why don't you just die. He then hijacked a bus to get back on his parents. Is this a movie? Fair to lock him up and hope to make him a contributing member of the society.
Sometimes I wish Japan would take the same stance as Singapore. Public canings.
Could be something that curbs incidents like this. Here is a link to the other crimes that rate a good caning. http://www.corpun.com/singfeat.htm#offences
Yes, good idea marty. Public canings would work well in Japan and make for great TV with one of those crazy panel shows making comments on the style, artistry and sound quality of the canings and the redness of the welts.

if the case was that he was not a bad boy but driven too far by abuse, I support him. I just hope that he is not dark cell like kato.
