Big deal its only dope, if it was some class A then it would be a different story

  • njboy13 at 05:59 PM JST - 1st May

Crucades-In Japan weed is "class A" as the Japanese authorities do not distinguish between them.

How about the poor British guy sitting in prison in Chiba for 17 years for smuggling, he claims the same thing, that someone put everything in his suitcases.

Nick Baker? he ain't doing 17 years, but 12, and yeah, he "claims" his mate set him up, but it's not as black and white as this case. His drugs were in a secret compartment and the story is a little suspicious.

Wow, so much for those who insist on labeling the Japanese judicial system as being unfair and biased against foreigners. As these cases prove, the justice system in Japan is biased FOR foreigners. Might have to rethink those old preconceived notions ey?

Just because this guy happens to be a foreigner doesn`t mean Japan is biased FOR foreigners.

    Nessie: Funny.

Glad he got off, must have had a good attorney.

By the way, do they allow medical marijuana in Japan?

By the way, do they allow medical marijuana in Japan?

You have to go to a pharmacy just to get aspirin.

rjd, I think you would be surprised at how many Japanese also go unpunished for attempted smuggling. A defense lawyer friend of mine explained that quite often the 'I didn't know what was in the bag' excuse is believed in court.

    "cannabis"

My friends and I had a great time smoking that stuff way back when. However I have no intention of ever inhaling that stuff again, and don't recommend it. It's really bad for short-term memory. Proof: One day as we were in the car on the way to a rock concert, no one could remember which band we were going to see or which venue they were playing. We had to get out our tickets to check.

    LOL, DXXJP.

Poor old Nick was made an example of in the hysterical anti-hooligan days of the world cup.

I have a stash full of skunk at home, for medicinal purposes of course. The medical reason for me using it is because I liked to get wrecked and forget about worries in life. They let me bring a suitcase of it back the last time, as long as you get someone else to wheel it through customs.

North, so that was *your *suitcase. Hope you didn't notice it was a little light. ;)

"Sir this bag is overweight." "no it's not! I packed about 23 kg in that bag." "Well it's 32.7kgs sir." "Oh yeah I remember! My mate .... Bob helped me pack. He must have slipped some souvenirs in. She'll be right. Let me pay the overweight charge and I'll continue on."

Really who lets others pack their suitcase for them? 9.7 kg? The guy doesn't check he weight to make sure he's not over the allowable limit? Most people would pack a limit if coming for any amount of time making the extra well.... extra so that you'd go back and take stuff out. Kilos over is just a cr@pol@ excuse.
