I do not personally mind that they do drugs so much and am sure most Kapanese know it goes on.It`s the enjo kosai that concerns me.I certainly do not toss any money in their box or buy their gimmicks
One of my old students is a buddhist monk. He owns not 1, not 2,3, or 4 but 5 houses. He is out every night of the week drinking here and there and usually always ends up at the girly bars folking over more cash than you care to count.
Kind of funny. Maybe he was searching for nirvana and needed a bit of a lift! Actually, when I think about it, it's not so strange. Other cultures have also used drugs in attempt to find enlightenment.
On another note, I highly doubt that the urine test was 'voluntary'. Well, at least he was't caught with possession. He should be out within 30 days.
Yes,religion is a great way to avoid taxes and has traditionally been used to launder dirty yakuza money since the ages.Obviously the the fruit doesn't fall far from the bodhi tree.
well, that's a convenient shortcut to sattori. these guys have a much better job than mine: no tax, great cars and houses, motivational sniffin. where do I sign up?

japanese buddhist is just a joke. how can a buddhist monk get marry, have sex, drinking. etc!
whatever the reasons for them to do this, it isn't Buddhist the way Buddha thought.

One becomes a Japanese Buddhist Monk so one does not have to pay taxes. The biggest houses I see in Japan are always owned by Monks.

How is he supposed to reach enlightenment without help, come on!
ca1ic0cat at 10:50 PM JST - 2nd October
Buddists want to be stimulated? I don't get it. BTW, ritalin is a stimulant.
I guess that's a higher mental plane then?

wow, cool, learn something new every day. just read about LSD too, which would probably work even better for them.
