Some14some: getting the people behind these sorts of things is hard, especially now they have busted the mule. Better way of trying to catch the people behind it would have been to let her through and then track her to her destination, surely?

Yes, almost all cases North Americans smuggling amphetamines involve Yakuza. They usually smuggle coke or pot for their own use. This probably involves either the Hishi (Yamaguchi clan) or Kotetsu. I am sure the Osaka Police Department knows better than we do.

Last time I flied thru Yellowknife fella in front a me he had false bottom in his suitcase. Told everone in the airport coffee shop. Said he sometimes stuck his favorite otter in there when he traveled!

    They let him thru.

I agree it's unlikely that she wouldn't have noticed but some large suitcases are heavy when empty. I have a large suitcase and just weighed it and it weighs about 6kg. But it sounds like she had 7kg of drugs PLUS the weight of the suitcase so that would be quite probably over 10kg before she supposedly packed anything... Sounds rather dodgy...

i dont think they scan your cases if you are travelling out of canada.not mine.there is not even metal detector when you enter the airport from first door.

Being Canadian... She is an idiot... 7kg???? how could you not know. She deserves everything she gets for the smuggling and the damage to Canadian reputation.

Today's assignment - Make a conversation using two of the following phrases:

Well, golly, I THOUGHT the suitcase seemed a little heavy...
I wonder how all that stuff got into my suitcase... I'm carrying these for a friend. They're not illegal in my country. I bought this suitcase from a friend. Those aren't amphetamines, they're medicine. In Canada, it's important to bring presents when you travel. Oh these? A nice tattooed man asked me to take them to his mother. (Your own phrase...)

"Yeah I never knew anything about drugs in this suitcae I borrowed". Do you really believe if her friend was a dealer that they forgot about those 7 keys stashed in the suitcase? It never ceases to amaze me what people think they can get away with.

Hummmmm, what is the weight of an empty suitcase when you but it??? Yeah, that's the ticket, the heavier the bag when I but it, the less I will have to put in it to ensure I stay below the airlines weight limit. That makes sense right? No sushi here, we have an order of fried Canadian Tail simmering in the fry pan now.

Hmmm.... She bought a used suitcase that unpacked weighed 7Kgs. she expects that to be believed ?

  • thepossum at 04:45 PM JST - 7th May

What do you wanna bet she figured if she just padded her outfit with Canadian flag patches, she'd get through customs with just a wink and a smile ! Guess she forgot about the x-ray machines ! Hmm, maybe they don't have those in Medicine Hat !!!

  • white_rabbit at 12:19 PM JST - 8th May

why would someone carry drugs OUT of japan? Don't they have a higher street price IN Japan??

  • white_rabbit at 12:20 PM JST - 8th May

    7kgs of drugs

hum...why is my new empty suitcase so freak'n heavy?

  • Taka313 at 06:39 AM JST - 9th May

This story holds no water. Forget about the buyer, who would SELL a suitcase with 7kg of drugs in it to someone else? I would think that is something one would remember having.

    Taka

Sounds like another case of Brenda Martin (the one who was alleged to be part of a scam in Mexico). Lawrence will call up the Canadian government to rescue her to extradict her to Vansterdam.
