I can understand taking off in drive instead of reverse, but if you're pulling in to a space, how could you hit the gas instead of the brake...?

This has happened now already a few times. Automatic cars are just dangerous. And you are being forced to buy them basically. I love my manual car but does that mean I will be forced to either buy more sports cars or buy these automatic ones I hate so much. Also, maybe the convenience stores should take some precautions. The parking is always right in front of the window. They should put up some protection bars.

Happened to a friend of mine too. Was pulling into the school parking lot, stepped on the gas accidentally instead of the brakes. Ran into a light post and totaled his brand new car. Laugh about it now, but it really sucked at the time.

I have driven both manual and auto transmission vehicles and have never experienced a problem of this sort. However I do know some drivers like to use both feet in auto trans cars why? Brake or gas right foot, right?
