He wasn't that kind of person to commit suicide... That is a good one. What do they mean by that? It is over. Prosecution should now disclose about their new secret evidence for Miura's trial. I wonder who pulled the trigger on his wife. But Miura did pull one on himself. Now that he has gone, why prosecution is not playing clean cards to public

Thousands of Japanese people kill themselves every year over the smallest of things. One Japanese guy does it in a foreign country, and suddenly it's 'suspicious'

Thepro on japanese soil it is "normal" but not in a foreign country

Surely they must have security video footage of his actions inside the cell.

What is suspicious is that seven minute time gap from being seen alive to being dead hanging from a noose made from pieces of his own shirt.
Also, the guy had seven months to do it, write a note, or express suicidal feelings to friends. He did none of the above. --Cirroc

Most suicide news have the usual "he wasn't the type to commit suicide," "he acted so normal today," "he was such a good person," "I thought he was happy" comments. Suicide is not predictable. I think it's best to leave the matter to forensic investigators.

I'd like to know why everyone thinks this is so suspicious. It sounds to me like the guy knew he was caught once and for all, and unlike the ridiculous Japanese system of law, he was going away for good (or for the rest of his life), so he just decided to commute his sentence, so to speak.
What's the conspiracy? Did someone kill him because it would come to light that.... he killed his wife? Foolishness.

".......was not he type of person to kill himself". As others have stated - what the hell does that mean???
A close friend back home topped himself after an argument with his wife. Sure he didn't like his job, but he was the leader type. Everyone always listened to him. Full of energy, life of the party and all of that plus 3 kids 4yrs - 12.
No note, no nothing - just an exhaust hose in the car window.
So the point that a proven slime like Miura (girlfriend mysteriously disappears in LA & turns up dead 5 yrs later, wife bludgeoned in murder attempt, wife shot & murdered....) with all the heat on him now, decides to exit the easy way, is of no surprise whatsoever.
The media here appears to pouring it on the LAPD to explain.
Get a life media.

There is NO murder conspiracy here....what reason would the LAPD have for killing Miura?? Sure, I could see a murder conspiracy and cover-up if this miura guy killed a LAPD officer in way back in '83 or something...Miura's case is not that special or unique....only the Japanese media has made a circus of this. America extradites dozens of foreigners to America to stand trial every year....and none of them get the media frenzy this low-life miura got. I believe its a very shallow attempt by the J-media to embarrass or shame America, by casting America as bullying and picking on an asian....IT WONT WORK J-MEDIA!!! WE DONT CARE!!

honestly, i think he knew it was the end of the line for him period.

It does not have to be the whole LAPD. Geesh. Some cops take it personal when they feel a bad guy got away. And when they catch up to him, look out. Remember the cops that were talking about how they would get OJ this time? Not to say those cops were improper, but the words reveal the mindset, and some cops go to far.
I have no idea what to make of this honestly. But it does seem odd that he sat in Saipan for seven months with no indication of anything, not even a failed attempt. He offed himself in seven minutes like he has been doing it all his life. --Cirroc

CavemanLawyer strikes again! With less than zero authority on what happened and why, CL proves he's one step ahead of the rest of us in the real world!

Most of the J-citizens I've talked to about this come up with the strangest of replies. "It was sooooo long ago, nobody cares anymore." "Why did they have to go after him after such a lonnnnng time?" "I think he ended it in L.A. so as to complete his story" (ie trouble began in L.A. and ended in L.A.) Only one person expressed it like we see it. Its amazing. Or is it just how things are here on Gilligans Isle?

These LA cops could care less about this low-life....why kill him?? Over a grudge?? If that was the case then every cop killer and child molester in California would have been murdered in jail before their trial. Miura knew he wasnt going to get out of this....American justice is much more solid and punishing then J-justice....when he was in Saipan, he felt he had a shot at getting released and return to Japan to roam free, that explains why he was fighting in court in Saipan...but coming to America...he knew the DA had a strong case against him and there was no way out...suicide, plain and simple...people need to see it as it is...and not make outrageous conspiracy claims.

It is difficult to believe that any kind of conspiracy exists in this case. I completely agree with bigearwax. He committed murder, but it was only (sorry to sound cold here) his wife not a big name American politician, policeman or other kind of celebrity. And I seriously doubt anyone from Japan could arrange this kind of killing in an American prison.
If he was murdered (and a big "if"), it was probably done by a fellow inmate in retaliation for something that happened in the prison. But even if that is true, wouldn't there be some evidence of a struggle?

And geography was not his strong point either, when he was nabbed he was rather shocked to find out that Saipan was part of the US.

The guy just saved us millions of dollars. We should thank that cold blooded killer for offing himself. I just wish more of those dam killers would do it. Save us all a lot of trouble.

120cm off the floor is the height of the bed from which he hung. Suicide?
