Chiba man held for allegedly beating girlfriend to death

A man was arrested on Thursday for allegedly punching and kicking his girlfriend to death at their home in Asahi, Chiba Prefecture, police said. According to police, the suspect, identified as Jun Arai, 33, began living with 34-year-old Yuko Mizunuma in March of this year. Arai has confessed to punching and kicking Mizunuma in the face and upper body between Tuesday and Thursday this week, causing her death.
The nature of the repeated assaults came to light on Thursday after Arai contacted the emergency services just after 5 a.m. When police arrived on the scene, they found Mizunuma lying dead on the floor. Arai was quoted by police as saying that he fought with Mizunuma because “she lied and had a bad attitude.”

Domestic abuse happens all the time in the US. It's just not newsworthy anymore so you don't hear about.
Anyways, since this happened at 5AM, I'm guessing that the guy was blind drunk? Not that it makes it ok or anything, just saying.

@Tahoochi, actually the reason this was reported was most likely because it resulted in DEATH. Most DV cases go unreported in many countries unless its child abuse or murder, which in this case it is.

This stuff happens but he came clean. The Japanese are snappers (most turn away from violence), once they snap it is pretty much death to them or the other. RIP and throw the book at him... he is bound to do it again.
