Chinese man killed in hit-and-run in Aichi

AICHI —

A 28-year-old Chinese man was killed in a hit-and-run in Anjo City, Aichi Prefecture, on Monday night. The driver fled the site, police said Tuesday.

According to police, Ji Xue Tong, who is a Chinese trainee from Hebei province, was found lying on the road around 10:20 p.m. He was taken to hospital but died of severe head injuries. Police found the victim’s bicycle nearby and believe he was hit by a car while riding along.

He was using his bike like they do in China. Even so we should respect cyclists because they are human the same as we are. It doesn't matter who you hit with vehicle, you should stop and try to assist victim. He could perhaps be alive today if suspect driver did stop on the scene and called for help. Arrogance is no excuse on the roads. I hope that this driver get term in jail to learn his lesson, and other drivers to think twice, especially if they are loaded with alcohol or drugs. We must not discriminate victims even if they are not from Japan. There is mention that he was 'trainee.' Is this in cycling?

I wonder how long he was laying there. Were people walking by with a stoned look on their faces as they often do?
