jeez, things must be really awful in China to take one's own life just to stay in Japan (he says tongue firmly in cheek)

PaulieWalnuts at 07:45 PM JST - 21st March: but jumping to conclusions about prison guards is fine. hahaha. nice.

I am aware that not all posters here are native English speakers. However, I am not in the mood to give an English lesson today. So please ask your English teacher the difference between "jumping to conclusions" and "raising a doubt". Its a fine point and may be above your level though.

dont make pathetic patronising excuses. you are always the first to criticise someone elses lack of logic/clarity in a post and always get uppity if someone does the same to you. but okay, next time someone on JT jumps to a conclusion, dont correct them, just assume they are raising a dount. it'll cut your posts by half

Did you say always? A dangerous word that. In fact, I have often thanked people for pointing out my mistakes.

I do have an attitude though. I will give you that.

It still stands that I was not jumping to conclusions. I can't tell you how much I detest that and being accused of it, particularly when I didn't. Sorry if my reaction was too strong, hating that accusation as I do.

What a heartless thing to say BBLeo! A man has tragically lost his life and you were thinking about plane fare??? Nasty!

  • letstalk at 05:57 PM JST - 22nd March

    May you rest in peace...

Sounds to me like a simple case of: the guy did something bad enough at home in China that it was better to die than return home... he must have done something pretty bad... otherwise, why kill yourself?

  • frankthedm at 04:07 AM JST - 23rd March

Posted by sharky1Is it common practice in Japan to lock someone up and not provide any supervision? Aren't they aware that people who are confined for the first time, for whatever reason, are prone to attempt suicide within the first 24 hours? Sounds like a case of professional neglect to me.

Sounds like to me the professionals knew exactly what they were doing.

In China you can get the death penalty for an awful lot of reasons. Maybe whatever he did wasn't as bad as all that?

I don't think this guy would face any kind of death penalty in China, never for staying illegaly in Japan. He must have had many other problems going on in his life, and this was the proverbial "last straw" that drove him over the edgy. RIP Chinese dude in a horrible Japanese jail!

  • IchyaWarFare at 02:14 PM JST - 25th March

Not to be wrong, but it is actually more money to send a dead body back then it is compared to sending a live body. Whatever his reason, RIP.

  • khemet at 02:27 PM JST - 25th March

Maybe the Japanese immigration was going to do more than just deport him...

  • akuma1985 at 02:12 PM JST - 26th March

No Viza = no stay it s simple and the rule is the same anywhere but it's easier to get a resident viza in japan than a tourist viza in china. If he prefered die than go back in china it s his life and his problems.

  • Ausralian361 at 09:00 PM JST - 27th March

Several things, doesnt the Japanese government understand that they cant go back to China or they will be destroyed? Cut him some slack.

Also, it would be better to immigrate to South Korea because dont they often accept illegal immigrants from North Korea all the time?

  • cwhite at 02:19 AM JST - 28th March

didn't look forward to going back to China, huh? Maybe he was on the run.
