The president of a construction company in Ichikawa City, Chiba Prefecture, has been arrested for slamming the head of his subordinate’s six-year-old son on a floor which resulted in the boy sustaining a serious skull fracture.

Police identified the suspect as Fumiaki Nagahashi, 42. According to police, the incident occurred at around 8:30 p.m. on Monday when Nagahashi's 35-year-old employee and his son were visiting his home, Fuji TV reported. Nagahashi explained that he was “playing” with boy by trying a pro wrestling move on him. When the boy screamed in pain, he hit Nagahashi's face. Nagahashi then slammed the boy's head multiple times onto the hardwood floor, fracturing the child’s skull.

The incident came to light when the boy vomited after being assaulted and the father called 119. The father said it all happened so quickly he didn't know what to do.

Nagahashi was quoted by police as saying he got angry after the boy hit him and felt he needed to scold the boy.

Big "boy" picking on little boy pathetic. Lets hope the boy makes a full recovery and that karma is real.

"Nagahashi was quoted by police as saying he got angry after the boy hit him and felt he needed to scold the boy."

Well, here's hoping he goes to prison for a very long time and people feel the need to 'scold' him. Perhaps he might just learn his lesson. But this is Japan, and the guy likely a Yak -- he'll get nothing even if the father doesn't wimp out and still wishes to press charges.

I have a 1 year old son. My first born. I dont give a !"#$ if you are my boss, the company CEO, whoever. You lay your hand on my boy, regardless if we are drinking, friends, buddies, or anything... You lay your hand on my son and I will make sure you will stop breathing.

I hope he rots in jail, and gets his head slammed repeatedly!

Skull fracture and vomiting afterwards sounds extremely serious (life threatening). I hope the kid is ok. I wonder if there have been any updates on his condition.

10 ( +10 / -0 )

So this father had no intention of phoning the cops and it only came to light after he called for an ambulance.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

A 6 year old! A 6 YEAR OLD!! hit him and he lost his cool?!

God damn manchild. Why even bother calling the police?

7 ( +7 / -0 )

WTF he's just a kid. When my son was 9, he kicked me right between the eyes as I was sitting on the sofa. (He had been taking karate and just had to show me one of his moves, LOL.) I almost blacked out and I did a lot of dramatic rolling around on the floor, but never did the thought cross my mind to hurt him in return.

Guy has him in a pro wrestling move. At six? Think about the size difference trying to do that. And the motivation to do it in the first place. Kid fights back. Power freak. Let's talk to His family.

The father should have called for an ambulance for his son immediately and then a funeral home for his boss. Unbelievable!

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Attempted murder. It shouldn't matter whether the father wants to press charges or not. Prosecutors need to do their job regardless and prosecute.

11 ( +11 / -0 )

The father should sue him for a large sum of cash.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

@theeastisred, Do not think something will come of this.

JLaw makes 'victims' jump through soooo many hoops. I personally know of a victim of internet fraud. They went to the police, and almost gave up on almost 80,000 yen, because of those hoops.

Also consider that as the subordinate, will the father press charges? No.

The president will pay medical expenses, and that will be that.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Hope lil guy ok!!! Company boss huh..... Him slamming my sons head into the floor would have been his last thing he'd ever touch in his life... And the boy's father!!! What the heck was you thinking!!! I would have jumped on company boss right then n there!!! President.... Ceo.... Chairman.... You put a hand on one of my children you will pay.... And pay big trust me!!! Smh. Hope the kid is ok.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

Wtf..?!

2 ( +3 / -1 )

@theeastisred

I agree with you. The law should be applied to him regardless the father presses charges or not. But this is Japan so nope, it won't happen. Wasn't it last year that this woman CEO beat her employee to death in the back of her car while her son was there too, and she got out free of charges? No jail time. Just came to an agreement with the dead guy's family (blood money?) and absolutely zero jail time. After murder!

Yep that how it is in many cases in J-land's jurisdiction. But i fear Shibuya, will react very differently in the future, do to its high middle eastern presence.....

Wow.... wow... that guy needs angry management...

2 ( +2 / -0 )

a-hole!

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Construction CEO aka YAK boss. Employee aka subordinate gang member. Nuff said. Poor kid.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

I hope he gets at least a year hard labor in a nearby prison. Maybe repay some of the bad deeds of overworking his employees to (as so many do).

Another Japanese adult using physical abuse as punishment on a child. Move alone people! Nothing new to see here!

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Take a guess who ELSE would have been getting arrested and looking for a new job if it were THEIR kid:

1 ( +1 / -0 )

The father said "it all happened so quickly he didn’t know what to do". What?!

1 ( +1 / -0 )

The father said "it all happened so quickly he didn’t know what to do". What?! Of course he did what all other Japanese men or women would have done and that was say "IM SORRY" for my child causing a problem!! Typical excuse!!

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Nagahashi was quoted by police as saying he got angry after the boy hit him and felt he needed to scold the boy.

Is this a translation error? I don't know of a single scolding that would cause a child's head to repeatedly slam into the floor.

So this father had no intention of phoning the cops and it only came to light after he called for an ambulance.

I'm not a father, but I imagine with the kid screaming in pain and then throwing up, calling the police about his boss was probably the last thing on his (or ANY father's in te same situation, for that matter) mind. His child probably took up 100% of his thoughts until the boy was being treated at the hospital and the father could sit and review the events.

Whats the point to write all the time employee, company president or bulls??? Who give a damn of his employment position? If he is a president or an unemployed do not change the fact that he is a bully and most of all an idiot! The boys father is another idiots too, who would not call police or take any action at all if it wasn't for the kid's puke! But as disturbing as it is I find much more disturbing the fact that journalists always have to tell, at first, the employment position ..like if it does change something, right? Seriously, ..youve got massive mental complexes and problems!

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Very very small man

2 ( +2 / -0 )

This bullying with slapping an hitting is all over tv here. Beat Takeshi seems to enjoy giving pain out. So I would assume it is culturally acceptable. Too bad and it is quite sad.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Who the hell does full on wrestling with a co-worker's 6 year old?

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Do you realize what kind of people operate small construction companies in Japan?

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Peter:

Also consider that as the subordinate, will the father press charges? No.

Gargoyle:

But this is Japan so nope, it won't happen.

I hope you are both wrong. To repeat though, this is exactly why the victims shouldn't need to be involved (and I am not sure they do need to be involved). What is the purpose of the police and prosecutors otherwise? We hear enough about forced false confessions. How about they do their job for once?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Had that been my son, it would have been me getting arrested...

3 ( +4 / -1 )

this monster deserves death, but he'll probably just get a slap on the wrist because he's the boss.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

" When the boy screamed in pain, he hit Nagahashi’s face. Nagahashi then slammed the boy’s head multiple times onto the hardwood floor, fracturing the child’s skull. "

What ?? The boy is 6. How hard can a six-year old hit you? This is insane. 6 is just out of kindergarten. What an idiot.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

President or not he is one of the dregs of the human race.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

My attitude would have been to break both the perpetrators legs pull out his fingernails skin him alive very slowly then castrate him then throw him on a meat ants nest to die .

0 ( +0 / -0 )

In contraction company the owners are not called Shacho. Oyabun. in JPanese language.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Hit him in the face? Really? I wonder. Read between the lines and you might guess, as I have, that the kid gave the boss a sharp shot to the pills. I can't think of a faster way for the situation to devolve from "hey, let's have some fun rasslin" to "this kid has painfully humiliated me and I have to teach him a lesson." Of course what the boss did was inexcusable. This story includes the fine-line judgment call of whether it was intentional or playful. Other people can... wrestle... with that question.

Also want to say that fracturing a skull on a hardwood floor takes some doing. If it was hardwood on plywood, there is a lot of bounce there, but if it is just some parquet on concrete, that is a nasty impact. Skulls are pretty tough, so if it was the former, it would have taken a lot of velocity to cause a skull fracture.

Oh well. It is all pretty sad. It is all fun and games until someone gets hurt. Then there is all kinds of blame to be throwing around. The father should not have condoned it in the first place. The father is going to have to live with this for the rest of his life. I would guess that the child will have lasting effects, but they might not even be noticeable or discernible. I know a lot of very smart professional people who have had worse head injuries as children.
