Big "boy" picking on little boy pathetic. Lets hope the boy makes a full recovery and that karma is real.

Well, here's hoping he goes to prison for a very long time and people feel the need to 'scold' him. Perhaps he might just learn his lesson. But this is Japan, and the guy likely a Yak -- he'll get nothing even if the father doesn't wimp out and still wishes to press charges.

Skull fracture and vomiting afterwards sounds extremely serious (life threatening). I hope the kid is ok. I wonder if there have been any updates on his condition.

WTF he's just a kid. When my son was 9, he kicked me right between the eyes as I was sitting on the sofa. (He had been taking karate and just had to show me one of his moves, LOL.) I almost blacked out and I did a lot of dramatic rolling around on the floor, but never did the thought cross my mind to hurt him in return.

The father should have called for an ambulance for his son immediately and then a funeral home for his boss. Unbelievable!

Attempted murder. It shouldn't matter whether the father wants to press charges or not. Prosecutors need to do their job regardless and prosecute.

The father should sue him for a large sum of cash.

JLaw makes 'victims' jump through soooo many hoops. I personally know of a victim of internet fraud. They went to the police, and almost gave up on almost 80,000 yen, because of those hoops.

Also consider that as the subordinate, will the father press charges? No.

The president will pay medical expenses, and that will be that.

I agree with you. The law should be applied to him regardless the father presses charges or not. But this is Japan so nope, it won't happen. Wasn't it last year that this woman CEO beat her employee to death in the back of her car while her son was there too, and she got out free of charges? No jail time. Just came to an agreement with the dead guy's family (blood money?) and absolutely zero jail time. After murder!

Yep that how it is in many cases in J-land's jurisdiction. But i fear Shibuya, will react very differently in the future, do to its high middle eastern presence.....

I'm not a father, but I imagine with the kid screaming in pain and then throwing up, calling the police about his boss was probably the last thing on his (or ANY father's in te same situation, for that matter) mind. His child probably took up 100% of his thoughts until the boy was being treated at the hospital and the father could sit and review the events.

Whats the point to write all the time employee, company president or bulls??? Who give a damn of his employment position? If he is a president or an unemployed do not change the fact that he is a bully and most of all an idiot! The boys father is another idiots too, who would not call police or take any action at all if it wasn't for the kid's puke! But as disturbing as it is I find much more disturbing the fact that journalists always have to tell, at first, the employment position ..like if it does change something, right? Seriously, ..youve got massive mental complexes and problems!

I hope you are both wrong. To repeat though, this is exactly why the victims shouldn't need to be involved (and I am not sure they do need to be involved). What is the purpose of the police and prosecutors otherwise? We hear enough about forced false confessions. How about they do their job for once?

My attitude would have been to break both the perpetrators legs pull out his fingernails skin him alive very slowly then castrate him then throw him on a meat ants nest to die .

Hit him in the face? Really? I wonder. Read between the lines and you might guess, as I have, that the kid gave the boss a sharp shot to the pills. I can't think of a faster way for the situation to devolve from "hey, let's have some fun rasslin" to "this kid has painfully humiliated me and I have to teach him a lesson." Of course what the boss did was inexcusable. This story includes the fine-line judgment call of whether it was intentional or playful. Other people can... wrestle... with that question.

Also want to say that fracturing a skull on a hardwood floor takes some doing. If it was hardwood on plywood, there is a lot of bounce there, but if it is just some parquet on concrete, that is a nasty impact. Skulls are pretty tough, so if it was the former, it would have taken a lot of velocity to cause a skull fracture.

Oh well. It is all pretty sad. It is all fun and games until someone gets hurt. Then there is all kinds of blame to be throwing around. The father should not have condoned it in the first place. The father is going to have to live with this for the rest of his life. I would guess that the child will have lasting effects, but they might not even be noticeable or discernible. I know a lot of very smart professional people who have had worse head injuries as children.
