Wow! Do not hear of too many Japanese getting killed in America like this. RIP dead son of a big movie producer.

My condolences to the father and mother. It is every parent's nightmare, isn't it, the violent death of their child.
I hope that the son's name is cleared as well. Better a senseless death than lingering feelings in anybody's heart that he somehow deserved it.

Since his alleged victim is still alive it would be hard to argue that he deserved death. But if we ever learn what he did to her (maybe nothing, may totally abhorent) a lot of people's feelings could change radically.

They should have let the two suspects run free for two years while they play funny keystone music and show the cops running around bumping into each other. This kind of police work will just cause loss of face to their J-cop counterparts.

It's good how those cops caught those guys rather quickly. Talking to neighbors, friends, scouring facebook pages. When they found the dead kid, they had no clues. Few days later, after doing real police work, they had two suspects in custody.
And when (hopefully when) they convict these two, it won't be due to a forced confession. They will show motive, opportunity, and evidence.
And although I know nothing of the particulars, I'll be they charged the woman with murder so she'd turn on her buddy in exchange for a lesser conviction. Seeing as how she was arraigned first and all.
Although I can't help but think that the cops moved so fast on this because the kid was the son of a rich, well known man. Not sure they'd work so fast if they found a dead druggie, but I hope that isn't the case.
