The main problem is companies are hiring bogus programmers or cheap labor with little testing and no knowledge of their own product, don't fight the criminals fights the cause of the problem.
I've seen several companies not just in Japan gladly claim they outsource the development of their software to other countries to save money thinking that is the smart thing to do, but have no idea how badly written their software actually is.

I agree. Not only systems that they use, but even the maintenance of the infrastructure ... the networks and servers are usually handled by an external company, which means the company's network may be designed to be accessed remotely.

This story touches on many concerns that people have today. Yes theft and illegal transfer of software, information and movies is prevailant.
It is not solely the responsibility of the governments to oversee who does what on the net.
Defamation of character or business is also a prevailant issue. Anyone who wants to slander or cause harm can so do because the main Internet entities such as google or yahoo do little or nothing to prevent it.
Post bad crap on the net about your neighbor , complain to yahoo they will remove it. Google won't do anything unless you spend thousands to get a order agains one entity or individual .
I believe google doesn't have this in place because it's currently in a battle of liberties with china at the expense of us north americans ...anyone have any thoughts on this ??

complicated business, I would be very alert to choose what security sites, the hosters or providers like google or hotmail, or yahoo etc. need to protect their users 100% secure - they got to be smarter than these hackers!!
