R.I.P, he figured he was going out, so might as well withdraw his appeal. What goes around, usually comes around.

He was waiting since 1993 for his sentence to be carried out. I just can't believe that. 15 years is a long appointment with hangman. How many more are inside like him. When you think of it, he got the right punishment from both sides; from justice and upstairs. I can imagine his suffering from cancer behind the bars. This is cruel. He should be hanged long time ago or they should give him freedom due to his illness.

"Kazuo Sawachi, a former senior officer with Tokyo’s Metropolitan Police Department, was accused of killing two people for money and jewelry in Yamanashi Prefecture in 1984."
Why is it written that he was "accused of killing"? Shouldn't the wording be "convicted of killing"? I also imagine that because he was "a former senior officer with Tokyo’s Metropolitan Police Department" he probably was destined to die of natural causes "at a medical facility in the Tokyo Detention House." Wow! "Detention" house rather than "prison" hospital.
