What if the potted plants pots were actually soft black polythene mini pots?

Do you really think 'Devi Fujin' would be caught dead with plastic planters on her property? Not in a million years. Knowing her the planters were probably made of solid gold or marble; tastelessly encrusted with diamonds in either case of course...

I'm with Dewi. The right-wing sound truck scumbags are low-grade terrorists. In a civilized country the guy would be arrest for harassment and disturbing the peace. I hope she could save her potted plants.

LOL @ USNinJapan! Can't argue there. Ya got me!

I don't like the uyoku any more than you do, but the guy evidently had an official public protest permit issued by the police. Blame the police for issuing the permit but don't excuse her for physically assaulting another person, whoever that may be.

  • nandakandamanda at 04:27 PM JST - 24th April

She could throw those things in her dress top too.

Well, yeah, this lovely 69 year old lady should not have physically assaulted this bag of filth right-wing scumbag with her potted plants. I find it more disgusting, however, that the police gave that piece of garbage a permit to harass her. If more people stood up to these right-wing scummies they would not be so bold. Anyway, I have a soft spot for potted plants. I hope she could replant them.

I feel sorry for the potted plants. What's going to happen to them?

  • nandakandamanda at 12:43 PM JST - 25th April

Three people have now expressed sorrow for the potted plants. Perhaps she replanted them first???

  • tokyocrawler at 02:47 PM JST - 25th April

Haha ...good on her! i have thrown eggs at the boosozoku bikers and would love to dowse those Uyoku with a few too! perhaps this is true democracy in action..let them shout insults at each other and engage hand to hand a bit....I love it!

If its true, and it might not be (seems odd), then the guy still gets 100 percent blame for his own actions and words. The cops just get a little blame as well. You do not harrass a person like that and not expect a reaction, even if the police did say it was ok.

Besides, he still might have done something illegal despite having a protest permit, such as slandering Devi or violating ordinances against noise. He might have even violated the terms of his own permit.

Perhaps after years of peregrination as a widowed refugee with a daughter, Mrs Dewi has got to see things in the cold light of day and rather looks askew at anything overenthusiastic. She also said that China and Korea are making too big a deal over the Yasukuni Shrine. She knows rage is often deliberately spurred and put to some political ends. Overreaction and much ado might be what she meant to always advise against, though she herself seems to tend to blow her top quite often.

"threw three potted plants, causing damage to the truck"

    Direct hit!

I'm always confusing Dewi Sukarno with Kyoko Spector...

  • lordomni at 09:36 AM JST - 27th April

awwww.... I wish her aim was better.

I don't argue with the right to protest, I do argue with the right to protest with a megaphone outside someones home. People have a right to defend themselves, and that includes from such direct harassment.

I hope she has more plants for the dip who issues the permit.

Not a big fan of Dewi-fujin's, but if it's Dewi vs the uyoku, I'd be right there, handing her the potted plants. I was once woken up at 5am by an uyoku truck blasting its noise pollution outside my apartment (they were protesting about the Mangyonbong docking at Niigata Port that day, IIRC), so I have quite a bit of sympathy for Dewi here.
