The Japanese press says it was a colonoscopy, and that the doctor claims he accidentally inserted the endoscope into the wrong orifice.

I am with Khemet on this one. I transcribe these doctor's notes and these things do happen. Hopefully he has some documentation.

Could see it happening, the procedure is done with the patient lying on their side, all lubed up, and there's not much distance involved.

Caught red handed, five years later...
Uh, I do not think that idiom means what you think it means.

He's a doctor - sincerely doubt he'll get any sort of custodial sentence.
tjfrancis at 06:32 PM JST - 8th May
Had the doc used his 6 plus years of university education (or common sense for that matter) he'd have played dumb. regardless of it being a lie or his hand "slipping".

"the doctor claims he accidently inserted the endoscope into the wrong orifice"
If that's true, which I doubt, he should be fired for incompetence.
If he intentionally inserted the endoscope into her vagina, he should be fined a few million yen and sent to prison for a few years.

Wrong orifice... in the doctor's defense, I have went to school with some med students who I do not think could pass Biology 101.
How did that weird Al song go... "I'm just an intern I still make, a mistake or too"!

No Sarge and no. Its not true, so dont bite. You are smarter than that - surely?

“I didn’t intend to do anything wrong. My hand just suddenly slipped.” Hey Doc, which hand was it?
likeitis at 12:42 PM JST - 9th May
Maybe I am more familiar with female orifices than some, but I could totally see an attempt at the anus going into the much more receptive vagina. Endoscopes are not exactly hard as rebar you know, they are somewhat floppy. Plus the Doc is wearing gloves, and those gloves might have some of the lubrication on them.
And no, I do not expect a female to appreciate the difficulties of such a situation. They never do unless they are lesbians.

"I have went with?"
"Mistake or too?"
Hey man, where do you practice Medicine? You made two major mistakes here, and it is only writing to JT. I would not let you touch my butt with an endoscope.

I don`t know what I find more weird here - the fact that she waited 5 years to report it, or the fact that he, despite seeing thousands of patients in the intervening period, seems to have instantly remembered the incident.
As for "my hand slipped" - well, lets just thank God he wasn`t a surgeon!
nandakandamanda at 01:44 PM JST - 14th May
kirakira25. If she has been demanding compensation from him, and for some reason he has lately refused, then this would explain both of your questions.
