Emergency services worker arrested for exposing himself in subway

Police said Monday they have arrested a 30-year-old emergency services rescue worker for allegedly exposing himself in the subway in Tokyo.

According to police, the suspect, identified as Yasunao Miyabe, undid his pants and exposed himself to a woman in her 20s on the Oedo subway line between Yoyogi and Nakai stations at around 3 p.m. on Nov 23, TBS reported. Police said the woman told him to stop it. At Nakai station, the woman dragged Miyabe out of the carriage and asked station staff to help.

Police said Miyabe has denied exposing himself.

On the day in question, he went off duty at 12 noon. A spokesman for the Tokyo Fire Department apologized for the incident and said the department takes the incident seriously.

Kudos to her for having the guts to grab the guy (one wonders what part of him she grabbed) and hauling him off the train. I have been exposed to so many times in Japan that I no longer remark on it.

"Police said the woman told him to stop it. " Freak was all over her like white on rice They do it in the park, they do it in the subway "Miyabe has denied exposing himself." You could never tell what a freak was thinkin' of

Her brave actions may have saved some very vulnerable people in future from abuse - a rescue worker could well come into contact with vulnerable children and adults in situations where police protection is greatly reduced.

Don't let that stop you, the police will still back you.

So this guy is an "emergency services worker", to me that means fireman or something close. The only way a girl in her 20's could have "dragged" him off the train is if he let her. Desperate cry for help?

Considering that the guy denies the charges and that there hasn't yet been a court case, the Tokyo Fire Department is way out of line here.

What chance now of a fair trial?

Give him a year in jail to think about his perverted habits!

That man is a exhibitionist. Exhibitionism is more than a crime. It is also a mental disorder. If you're charged with exhibitionism or indecent exposure, you will need a lawyer to help with your case and a medical practioner to help with your mental disorder.

Boy, did I read that headline wrong! I thought the Emergency Services had to rescue someone who had gotten himself in some kind of precarious situation after being arrested for exposing himself, maybe fallen on the subway tracks trying to escape or something. Clearly past my bedtime...

This is most likely a mental disorder. He may or may not be a danger (ie violence) to people, but he definitely needs help, not just blind punishment.

So was he providing emergency (fan) service? I guess not, seeing as she obviously wasn't a fan. I still say the best response to such weirdos is to start laughing out loud with a "chiisai!" or "kawaii" thrown in periodically for good measure. If they thought they were impressing the victim or threatening them, that usually puts a stop to things quickly.

There should be a separate topic area for these crimes committed by people who are supposed to serve, protect and/or teach.

You took the words right out of my mouth. What is it with civil servants in this country? Is being a disgusting pervert some kind of job requirement, or something?

he must rot in jail for violating his job's ethics

She took seriously what was poked at her in fun.

She did good. She probably had martial arts training to force him to go with her.

All Japanese women in today's society needs martial arts training to handle demented peopkle as this.
