A rock musician smoking dope? Are you sure about this? I can hardly believe it, it seems so improbable...
WTF, who cares?

There are too many cops in this country. People should arm themselves and deal with this infestation. By the way, stupid Japanese government thinks that there are not enough cops and made academy exams easier.
what is this world coming to?
bobbafett at 10:23 AM JST - 29th September
the last thing in the world Japan needs is legalized drugs. companies would be putting methamphetamine in the coffee and water etc.
tokyokawasaki at 10:31 AM JST - 29th September
Who really cares. Talk about making a mountain out of a mole hill..

He will contact Sakai and ask for advice. Weed is always dry unless it is freshly cut. I wonder if it was buds. What made them search. Too many pizza trucks delivering around the clock? Munchies will get you every time.

why in the world do you think they would put meth in the coffee or water. Bleach is legal, they don't put that in your water or coffee. You have a frickin choice!!!! that is the argument my friend. The government takes away your choice and if you get caught going agianst their choice do they A: help you with your problem or B: put you in jail and throw away the key and cost billions and billions of your money to house the 'criminals' and continue the pointless drug wars in the middle east and the americas. did you even read my post? they legalized drugs in Portugal and drug use went DOWN!!!!! instead of throwing every junkie in jail, where he could still get drugs, and would come out addicted to something else, or something stronger, they offer them drug rehab if they want it. People have been shouting this for nearly 75 years. Decrease jail time for drug use, and offer more drug rehabe programs. Do you smoke? really? wow! was that your choice? oh i thought so. so if herion was legal, would you use it? my guess is no. so if drugs were leagalized it probably would effect your life about as much as a nice breeze passing through the tiny little world you live in.
come on. use your noggin. WHEN cali taxes weed, if they used half the money for drug rehab programs, cali could soon have the lowest numbers of drug users in the usa. Think about it. billions of dollars just to HELP junkies, plus all that money saved from not housing them in jail. wow...
people who want to do drugs are going to do them legal or not. Deep down inside every government offical knows that leagalizing drugs is the way to go, but it would be policatl suicide to say such a thing because somepeople... say YOU, just cant wrap their head around such a simple and obvious answer.
its like the usa goverment. if something is wrong lets go to war!!!!!!! peoples lives dont matter, just good headlines.

Weed was legal in Japan until the end of WW2. The law was pushed by Americans after the war. Shouldn't they urge J gov of easing it a bit that now we know it's not as harmful as it was once believed?
dolphingirl at 02:53 PM JST - 29th September
Yeah, my first question is, why did they search his house? Hopefully they had a warrent. Recently, it seems like they are just trying to bring down all these idols and ex-idols. Probably trying to scare people into not using drugs; creating fear so that people will want to be protected from these 'horrible' drug users. Wouldn't it be better to educate people!!?
inakaRob: Just a small correction: About 8 years ago, Portugal decriminalized all personal drug use. Some drugs are still illegal but it's no longer a crime to use them. Drug use by minors dramatically decreased immediately after the decriminalization. In general, I do agree with what you're saying. The war on drugs is incredibly stupid. Let people make their own choices and offer education, treatment and rehab.

I imagine he was not careful enough about concealing his use from his friends, acquaintances, neighbors or hangers-on. That, or one of the above got busted and flipped on him in return for a reduced sentence.

This is just as pertinent as saying:
Ex-idol rock guitarist arrested for GUITAR possession

All these random drug busts at peoples homes or walking strangely is a result of snitching. Very unbecoming.Japanese are lacking the cultural class of yesteryear.
Jbizzle at 10:14 AM JST - 30th September
^^ Exaclty! people are snitching. How else would these keystones ever find out?
Nessie at 03:18 PM JST - 30th September
Strange walking is just one of the many dangers of weed. I forget the others.

the good point of this type of article is : if the police have time to lose with few gramm of cannabis or the sakai s story and other cannabis case it s mean that japan is a really safe country and that the police have no real crime to resolve or that it is safer to their to arrest someone with few gramm of cannabis that try to arrest the real criminal.
