    what a joke...

It's all here: making bail for a premeditated crime resulting in manslaughter, prosecuters skipping an appeal to let it happen, and the coup de grace...3 suspended sentences.

This guy will get a suspended sentence I expect. Doubt they would punish someone in the JSA severely.

Sumo sucks and the government is in cahoots with it. What a sham.

Welcome to the Japanese justice system!! Think bout this, swedish woman gets aquitted of drug trafficking but kept in jail an extra 8mons while prosecuters try to appeal verdict. 2 russian wrestlers kicked out for a dubious drug test. murder is let free... Go japan!! Yokosu.

It is actually good news. I have a colleague I don't like too much. So it seems I can beat him to death with a baseball bat, and it is ok, I can get a suspended. I only have to be careful to not do too often: some may would suspect that i am doing it on purpose.

It is not surprising though: some weeks ago there was this mother, killing her kid, because she was upset or stressed out or what, and she also got only suspended. I can imagine the judge's relieve: "Good grace, only manslaughter, not hash!"

I wonder how much weight he lost...

I say Sumo should be in the 2016 Olympics, and this guy should be coach of the National team!

  • BBLeo at 04:37 PM JST - 18th March

Yes, this is a joke. This is an indication that he will get suspended sentence like others before him.

  • isthistheend at 08:38 PM JST - 18th March

How is this not shameful? Can you imagine the pain of the boy's parents? The thug hit a teenager over the head with a bottle. In what countries is this not a major crime of assault, and since he died from this and other inflicted wounds murder? "I was just teaching him a lesson". How about if someone teaches that thug of a "boss" the very same lesson by the very same means of administration?

Pathetic. I doubt anybody in the Justice department reads this, but if they do, then know this: you are a bunch of crooks, worse than half the peopleyou put away. You bring shame on your country. Goodnight.
