Are teachers penalized more/granted less leniency than the next profession?
How many times have you heard a Japanese person say, "but you're a teacher" if you admit to not knowing something? Once, some ugly soon-to-be-graduating male high school student mentioned he would be going to some obscure school in the California hinterlands and asked me if they had a medical school. I didn't know so he goes and tells this equally ugly juku teacher and she agrees with him that I should have known. Why are teachers expected to be gods in this country? I've taught many privately and their knowledge of world events is so incredibly limited it's laughable.

So he was dismissed for posting photos of kids killed in traffic accidents and now he was taking pictures of kids for "sexual interest" This is one weird bird and I am much happier if he is in jail.

Two words: chemical castration.

No wonder there are criminals, they always catch these sorry bastards, suspend their punishment and yet again they decide to be a repeat offender. I caught for some BS like this they should just kill these sorry bitches.

They should stick this dude in a room naked with only his camera and the wild boar that went on a rampage.....

Let's see, we got suggestions of death, castration, support for jail-house justice by convicts, and torture by wild boar.
No doubt the guy is obsessed, but the guy did not kill any kids. He did not even touch any it seems. And as a former Ele. school teacher he had PLENTY of opportunity to do both!
All he is doing for his obsession is taking pics. I certainly hope he stays that way. But I can't see any special reason to worry about him going further than any of you out there who regularly rent splatter movies or come up with wild, excessive, and medieval punishments for what is far more a problem in the guy's head than the real world. Have a look in the mirror.

helloklitty - what has being ugly got to do with your point? Or are you just putting it in because you don't like those people and want to insult them?
LFRAgain - thanks for the info and link.

Thanks. That's much clearer, though only slightly less disturbing!

There's a lot of disinformation and misinformation floating around on this thread.
Toshio Watanabe was arrested in 2007 for posting pictures of other people's children without the permision of their families, in violation of copyright laws. The photos were of five children when they were still alive and NOT photos of children in death after accidents.
Watanabe was also arrested and charged for distributing photographs of nude boys under 10-years of age on two occasions, once to an adult who visited his site and requested the images, and once to a 16-year old high school boy who also requested the images at Watanabe's web site, both instances in clear violation of Japanese anti-child pornography laws.
Watanabe was given a suspended 2 1/2-year prison sentence and ordered placed under supervision for the unauthorized posting of photos of five children died in traffic accidents on his Web site and e-mailing child pornographic materials.
He has now been charged and convicted for trespassing and the more nebulous charge of "taking more than 250 pictures of students 'out of sexual interest,'" resulting in a

He has now been charged and convicted for trespassing and the more nebulous charge of "taking more than 250 pictures of students 'out of sexual interest,'" resulting in a 10-month sentence. While the current violation may not be directly connected to pornography charges, Watanabe's actions were in violation of a 5-year probation, during which it is presumable that he is to avoid breaking laws of any sort.

Disillusioned,
How many murder movies have you seen in your life? Not sure if we should take any chances with you, just because you have not killed anyone...yet.
Be careful with creating crimes of thought. They tend to turn on you.

LFRAgain, thanks for clearing that up. I can't say how they know he was taking pictures "out of sexual interest" but considering his past actions with distributing pictures of nude boys, I would say he shouldn't be anywhere near a school period, with or without a camera.
