Gambling is an extremely dangerous pursuit in Japan, gambling houses are often set alight and people murdered. My advice - stay away from the Pachinko, Slot and Mahjong dens.
RIP to the poor punters.

To bad about the deaths, but not sad to see the parlor gone. Do it to Pachinko too. Pachinko is like watching clothes dry in a dryer.

Can anyone say "Japanese Mafia" was here?

mah jong is a very enjoyable and social game, reminds me of gin rummy. Gambling can turn friends to enemies and humans to less, mmmm.... should I hate mah jong? naw, dont think so.

Do mah jongg places normally stay open that late? Or open up that early? Is this normal? And I hope they had suitable fire-escapes, I hate hearing about poor victims running around screaming and trying to find the non-existent fire escapes.
And why no sprinklers or fire alarms? Especially after a previous arson attempt! Irresponsible.

@ d-mit. Commonly parlors are occupied by patrons until sunrise and after.
