    Don't they believe in court martials in this country? Theft? Skipping Duty without Notice = AWOL? And an officer as well! This is a disgrace. With allies like these.....

    I especially like the part "the incident occurred only a month after an alleged leakage of information related to the highly sensitive Aegis defense system within the Maritime Self-Defense Force." Seeing as the US probably went spare over the leakage of such information, the JSDF decided not to pass on information of this theft because the US might have got angry (you think?). God forbid the JSDF is ever called upon to take up arms...

    I think that soldiers not permitted to be soldiers tend to forget that they are responsible for national security.
