The other one was shot in the left side of the chest and it was not known if he was conscious, firefighters said.

Why is it always firefighters who do ambulance men's work? I never see the latter putting out fires.

Why is it always firefighters who do ambulance men's work?

Because in Japan ambulances are in fire stations and ambulence men are firefighters...

You know, Japan is so safe. After all, guns are illegal, and....ooops!

Gee... I feel so safe the J-Clown-Cops are on the job!

Now time to go back to back to cracking down on Illegal Bicycle parking! Hear, no evil, see no evil, speak no evil.... Oh, there's an illegally parked bicycle!

Here's a novel idea... Instead of going back to doing nothing but harassing obasan's and salary-men on bicycle's, How about obtaining search warrants for every single member of this Inagawa-kai gang...? Maybe turn up some illegal guns...? Or are illegally parked bicycles more of a threat to public safety...?

Me thinks the J-Clown-Cops are worthless and they couldn't fight their way out of a paper bag.

mindovermatter: did you have any opinon about the story, or just wanted to go off on SA22C, who you refer to as kenn-chan? Not crazy about the guy, fine. Me too. but write about the article next time. For what it's worth, he has a point. Most illegal guns are sold/acquired via the North Korean mafia. Or so I've been told been japanese friends.

Wow, a rare shooting in Japan! Meanwhile in the land of gun-nuts and NRA goons there have been two mass shootings in two days.

When are people going to learn that guns=trouble.

They do mare harm in the hands of average joes than good.

While I realize that Japan has more gun violence than most believe, its strict gun laws do much more in keeping most people safe than the Wild West gun laws of the USA. I feel bad for those shot in this even in Yokahama and take confort that it is not a daily event as it is in my home town of 200,000 people in the USA.

Meanwhile in the land of gun-nuts and NRA goons

Ah yes, those pesky NRA goons, going around causing people to use guns in crimes... /sarcasm

When are people going to learn that guns=trouble.

When are hoplophobes going to learn that people=trouble? I've used a gun in self-defense. Guns aren't trouble, they're not evil, and they don't cause people to commit crimes they wouldn't have committed anyway. Guns are tools. They're inamimate objects. They can only be used at the direction of the user. Just like cars, capitalism, kitchen knives, the internet, rocks lying around on the ground, etc., etc.

They do mare harm in the hands of average joes than good.

Obviously, you're not aware of the 70,000 times a year guns are used in self-defense in the U.S. alone. The vast majority of the time without being fired, just pointed (like in my case).

Which are you more afraid of, an "average joe", or a violent criminal? Or do you see the violent criminal as a victim?

Here's an idea: Get rid of the threat, not the defense.
