I have just read the breaking article in The Guardian newspaper, although The Guardian did not mention that the judge stated that Obara drugged and raped her. That would have been a green light for a murder conviction if the High Court had.

Obara is a certified sociopath, which means he has probably convinced himself that he is not guilty of any crimes. Also his family's got money, and that insulates him, to some degree, from the full impact of the legal process. Putting him behind bars this way more of an act of expediency rather than dispensation of justice, in the true sense of the word.

OK, why isn't this animal on his way to the gallows? He is a multi-murderer. I guess because it was not his intention to murder the girls, just drug and rape them he is getting off with a jail term. How many more of these freaks are lurking around?

Just watched the link posted by Bobcatfish and am totally disgusted! The cops found 150 tapes of girls he had drugged and raped yet he is only facing charges for 9 of them. Say what? Not enough evidence? Say what?

Someone needs to get Hoshino to come and do her job as ambassador for safety for people going abroad. Oh, sorry, I made a mistake. Japan is safety country. Foreigners need not worry about being not safety in Japan, only Japanese people going to gaikoku land should feel unsafety.

On another note. If the ladies want to go out and do this kind of work, they should understand the risk. I've known a few friends who have gone to work at these types of clubs and it always baffles me the way they tried to explain it away. Thankfully they have all stopped and were safe while it was happening. The rich old Japanese boys living in this kind of imaginary world are still very lethal, even if they look like harmless twerps. But I guess that kind of business (whoring) always has its risks.
