High school employee arrested for paying girl for sex

KANAGAWA —

Police on Tuesday arrested a manager at a high school in Kawasaki’s Asao Ward on charges of violating the child prostitution and pornography laws after he allegedly paid a 17-year-old student for sexual services.

Police said 52-year-old Minoru Komura was arrested on suspicion of paying 60,000 yen to a girl he had met through a prostitution club and receiving sexual services from her at his apartment in Yokohama on June 6. He reportedly met the girl several times, paying her 60,000-100,000 yen each time.

The Board of Education released a statement, saying, “This is a deplorable act for someone who works in school administration. We will deal with the incident with the utmost severity.”

They make it sound like the guy talked a young, naive schoolgirl into doing something she didn't want to do...sounds to me both parties were happy so what's the problem. Still, 60-100K, she must have been doing something right or he was a pig and the only way she would do him was for that much money.

I have no problem with a mature, independent, confident woman who makes the choice to sell her body for sex but I do have a problem if it's a inexperienced 17-year-old girl who could be ruining her self-image and self-esteem unknowingly.

I am technical at all times. You failed to read the fine print. Read my post again. I said the age of consent in prefectures, and prefectural law on the subject takes precedent over the federal.

agree with dolphingirl here, if she's an adult, and makes a decision to sell her body for money, then so be it. However high school students are different I feel. I teach 17/18 year old girls at high school, and although physically ready, many aren't emotionally ready for relationships let alone prostitution. This guy is surrounded by young girls, and I think this has affected him in a sleazy way. The age of consent is a moot point, the guy should know better and gave into temptation. This would ruin any life, I'm sure he regrets it now.

I believe that most people strong against reason on this subject based mostly on that very thought. Its not so much about damage to the teen or harm to society. Its mostly their own personal feeling of what is gross and what is not. At least you are a hair's breath away from admitting it, which is more than I can say for a lot of people.

There are a lot of things I find gross. But its pretty irrelevant. But I think you would feel a bit differently if you found over-30s gross. Usually I do. Besides, who was the first queen of porn and how old was she. Traci Lords at 15. Sometimes people have an image and find that gross. But the reality is that their image and reality don't quite match.

17 year olds are postpubescent. They are sexually mature. They have breasts and rounded hips, etc... They look like young women to me. I think it's natural to be attracted to a 17 year old. I also think it's quite strange for you to see a 17 year old as a child.

Despite the confusing consent age, wasn't a law passed recently regarding teachers/school staff having sex with students to discourage just this? Should be common sense, you have access, power and are trusted by parents not to violate that trust. The girl probably got caught and the cops went through her phone records. Not worth it. Go to a soap land or buy an outfit for you 18+ "girlfriend."

That is wrong Prefecture laws says age of consent 18, Japanese federal law was set at 13 but prefecture laws are used in age of consent cases. Japanese federal law was then changed to 18 years old in 2004 to be in line with prefecture laws. Western sites have not updated their information and still show the age of consent for Japan as 13.
