Hokkaido cop arrested for drunken driving
SAPPORO —
A senior police officer was arrested on Sunday for driving under the influence of alcohol in Honbetsu, Hokkaido, prefectural police said Monday. The 51-year-old officer was arrested while he was driving near his own police station at about 9 a.m.
An official from the station reported that the officer had arrived about an hour late for work the same morning, and had also collided with a squad car while trying to park his minivan when he arrived.
The officer was quoted as saying: “I had been out drinking all night, and had quite a bit of sake when I got home too.”

So this cop arrives late for work, runs into another squad car while trying to park and then he was out driving around and some other cops in the area(possibly his coworkers) arrested him?

I don't think it says that, Dolphingirl. I believe he arrived an hour late to work and was arrested after colliding with the squad car while trying to park his van. Reasoning: He was arrested at 9 a.m. which doesn't leave much time for arriving late, colliding with the car, then driving away and getting caught elsewhere.
