What in fk??? Only 5 years each for two of the worst crimes a human can commit?? Damn this BS to hell!!! Only in Indonesia would hand out such lenient sentences. Damn this is frustrating.

From what posters here have written about Indonesia I think it sounds a lot like the Philippines to me. Creepy all round. I'd rather not spend my tourist dollar/yen in these types of creepy places. Thailand, and even Cambodia are much safer.

The girl that got away must have been incredibly distraught to not call the hotel by phone and give her friend the heads up before the bad guy got there...

Someya-san couldn't think straight enough her concern only to get help for herself since she was abandoned by David. She couldn't expect that David will try to something bad to her friend in the hotel. By the time she went to hotel Sano wasn't there. Too bad.

That's what happened if you only do the reading, that's the power of media. That place consist more than 17,000 island so it's depend in which island you stay.

I imagine her walking around aimlessly after being put through the wringer by the guy. Must have been terrible. At least she made it out alive. Definitely not the image that Bali would like Japanese OL's (their main tourist group) to see.

5 years for each charge seems absurdly low considering the violence of the crime. I hope this guy gets shanked in the prison shower and sodomized as he dies.

Midnight...please reread the article. After the attack on the 1st girl, she came back to the hotel only to find that Sano was not there.
