TOKYO —
The Tokyo District Court on Thursday sentenced Japanese singer Yasuyuki Okamura to 2 years in prison for possessing and using amphetamines in violation of the stimulants control law. Okamura, 42, was arrested in February on suspicion of possessing and ingesting stimulants at his home in Tokyo’s Shinjuku Ward. This is the third time that he has been arrested and delivered a sentence in connection with stimulants.
After handing down the ruling, the judge addressed Okamura, saying, ‘‘Please keep away with stimulant drugs.’’ But he did not respond. Prosecutors argued ‘‘considering the degree of influence Okamura, a famous figure, has on society, his criminal responsibility is grave.’’ He had admitted to his charges.

While this is a good and just verdict, one has to wonder, why aren't they putting more of the younger talentless 'talento' behind bars for similar offences?

This is BS. He's only hurting himself with his drug addiction. Hell, people get away with less of a sentence for murder if they apologize.
