what does "abandoned" a body mean? Is it a crime?

Did this vermin commit further crimes against Filipina women after being released for dismembering his previous filipina GF? How many times and how many girls and how many have to be filipina before an obvious motive is there? This guy is a monster and it is baffling how he can get out of prison and re-offend so easily.

Abandoning a body is a charge they use when they find someone dumping a corpse but don't have the evidence to charge them with murder. In this case they sent the guy to prison for abandoning the first victim's body, deciding that even though he had chopped it up there wasn't enough evidence to charge him with murder. So they let him out after about 4 years and he killed again. As has been pointed out many times before, imagine the difference if the nationalities were reversed.

there is no substantial evidence, other than his confession

Yeah -- we all know how flimsy an actual confession is!

"However, his defense counsel contended that there are question marks over their client’s guilt in the Yoneda killing, saying there was no motive for the defendant to kill her and that there is no substantial evidence, other than his confession"

Then what is the validity in a Japanese confession here in Japan?

And what is the validity of Japanese serial pathological behavior in Japan

'there is no substantial evidence, other than his confession'

Ha...who are we kidding, the Japanese courts have put away people over confessions much much more flimsier than the accused above.

He killed a foreigner. And a Filipino at that. 3 years suspended. Watch. I'm sure that's going to be the punishment.

It is sad to see the way the Filipinas are treated here. If there was any respect the murderer would have been dealt with severely in the first instance itself. Were these two ladies married to Japanese? Where were their husbands? If they were marriage of convenience, then by now Filipinas should understand that it OFTEN ends this way. A 22 year old, why was she here? What was she thinking when she associated with a 49 year old unreliable man? Money is superior to dignity?

When you consider the number of murders of Japanese men in the Philipines and murders of Filipinas in Jland in the past, one tends to think that these people have no respect for human lives. Sad indeed.

Why did these women have Japanese surnames??? Were they married to other men at the time they were dating and murdered by Nozaki?

    more foreigners causing crime ...

    (as victims)

Hard to tell in text, but I really hope there was satire in that. Because I am sure there are fools blaming the Filipinas for the incident. Or should I say the "foreigners" for those of you who have adopted the "there are Japanese and there is the rest of the world" mindset of the Japanese.

In almost any other country they are not "foreigners", but rather they are the people from whatever country they are from. JT does a good job with this.

There absolutely nothing unusual about such a mindset. In fact it's quite common. You see it less in countries that have a diverse population to start with.

No motive? No evidence? No nuts here in Japan. Nope. Not a one. Pass the curry please.

I suggest a suspended sentence so as to leave room on death row for the Indonesian who offed the Japanese guy.

This murderer did not just pick two women and kill them. Some opportunity was offered to him right?
