There are indeed too many guns in the Philippines. With the economic situation there -- it's always been bad, but with the world economy what it is it's worse than normal -- a LOT of people are losing jobs. I have a friend who runs an office which manufactures batteries for Panasonic out of the Philippines and he had to announce a few hundred lay-offs already this year. He's twice gone with his body guard to the car to find all the tires slashed, and they are not allowed to drive the same way to the office any two days in a row, can't stop the car except at lights, etc.

This guy was probably in the Philippines on a similar company mission and an angry person got to him at the wrong time, wrong place (for the victim).

Poor guy.

It not too surprising really, why a 19yr would marry a 45yr old, money or passport!!! See it in Thailand and China too old guy with extremely young girls. Snap out of it you oldies it not love !!!!

I think the older guys know what the deal is.They figure if they can't find a young girl in Japan,they will go elsewhere. I mean surely they know 19 year old is not hooking up with them for love?

On Topic: That is really sad for the guy. I'm am thinking the wife had him taken out over jealousy or cash. They been married 4 months, enough time to put her on his insurance and what not. And don't say she's 19 and not clever enough to plan something like that.

The 45 year old and a 19 year old is one thing.

Besides that, what do the Filipinas think of themselves. Why should they resort to the same old style of finding an older man, expect him to look after her family and her extended family, and probably expect him to give her money to start a business. I've heard this story over and over again from the ladies and men. Come on, if you are hurt by what the Japanese people have done to you during the war, forget them and move on. As for the Jguys, it is time you change according to the times like the Jladies and learn to live with them. You should have known by now, cash is the only motivation for many to marry you. 19 year old Filipina is trained well to extort money.

Or did you think they all earned their LV bags flipping burgers at McDonald's? Or does your prejudice against Filipinas just make you ignore the obvious?

I near enough go with womanforwoman on this one. Married for 4 months & then he goes to her home country & dies. Wow! Wasn’t that a coincidence? But where I would differ is that I know that this marring business is not aimed at Japanese men, any man from any country that has some level of wealth will do & then the poor sap ends up being the bread winner for a whole family he might never have met & under these circumstances doesn’t want to either.

I agree grafton. I've heard stories as such like this as well. womanforwomen is also correct. As sad as it is to say please don't be gullible enough to trust Filipinas. They are mostly out for themselves and you chances of being railroaded into family support is high.

Don't automatically assume the J-man is innocent, just because he was Japanese. Most of the J men I see in Manila are real dodgy types, yakuza or other criminal types. If he's living there (he had a motorbike) and married to a 19-year, there's a good chance he's there for shady reasons. Like the Russians in Pattaya. It takes 2 to tango.

Too many Japanese scum yakuza go to the Philipines, bring back Filipina women to work at pubs etc..here in Japan. It is a dirty job, but I guess if you are young and going to sell your body back in Manila, you will get more yen here in Japan?? RIP dead Japanese dude.

I would start by looking at his Will, and Insurance. Was the wife added to be the beneficiary for house, money, etc?

As for the comments about Phillipino women by womanforwomen, there is little or no difference between girls from China or here in Japan - the only big difference I can see is that Jgirls are more expensive. Steal 1 yen, or 1 billion yen - still theft. You shouldnt go labeling such as " what do the Filipinas think of themselves. ". If this were the case, every man in Japan would be a money-laundering, train-groping, enjyo kosai with junior highschool student using perverts, and every woman would be murdering their own babies because they were tired of taking care of them. Luckily not everyone is like this, and not every Phillipino is either.

Eddi - I think you need to read the article again. If the TM is coming from Japan, it would be coming from someone else and not the wife as she is in the Philippines with Ohga.
