Kagoshima police committee to prevent scandals after cop busted for sex in patrol car

KAGOSHIMA —

Kagoshima Prefectural Police on Tuesday said they will launch a special committee to prevent scandals by police officers, following a case in which a police officer was arrested for having sex with a 17-year-old girl inside a patrol car on October 16.

The committee aims to prevent any scandals by its officers, such as use of online dating services, through instructions by supervisors to their subordinates. “The October 16 case was partly because of indifference and a hands-off attitude among officers,” said a police official.

I think all these stories of cops sexual adventures is a way of trying to get more recruits in the force. I mean what else than appeal to the sense of perversion of the locals. It'd work for me too. I mean how many of you actually came here and liked all the pretty young things way back when? Don't be a pot calling a kettle... you know the phrase.

In most countries the age of consent is around 16, so no he would not be jailed and he would not be labeled a pedophile. Sorry to ruin your punishment for sex fantasies.

I would guess that the age of consent is 18 in Kagoshima, so I don't know why that bit is glossed over. But as long as she was not forced or coerced, I don't really care. --Cirroc

If the officer is 21 years old I stand corrected in my previous comments. But if he is lets say 35 I stand by what I say. I dont know about your countries but if I am 35 and have sex with a 17 year old, most people would label me a pedophile...legal or not, consent or not.

This is why I like reading the news from countries outside where I live. I firmly believe that we're all pretty much the same. We've had this same scandal where I live in the wild west of the U.S. Cops here have been busted for this behavior twice. And, yes, by 17 a girl knows what's what, unless she's mentally slow. And sometimes girls love a man in a uniform, what can we say!

Nothing perverted about getting into a state of arousal over a 17 year old woman. Appeasement in a patrol car is a no no. If on the sidewalk or a park bench he would probably be forgiven. But a patrol car? Maybe they have bigger ones now. I could understand a '37 Packard or '42 Chrysler.

Way to go SouxGirl for calling it like it is. Medievaltimes: SO how about 35yo guy with a 20yo woman? Still a paedophile? A woman wont change much physically from 17 to 20 in most cases, although mentally and psychologically that may be different. How about 18 and 35? 19 and 35? Which arbitrary number will appease your self proclaimed medieval thinking process? All told, on duty, in the police car, Im more concerned with his abuse of power, and with his not being out fighting crime, with his other nightstick.
