Just when you think you have heard everything. Wonder how this guy was arrested, were his colleagues sitting in the front/back seat "gathering evidence"? Next we will have stories about filming porno movies in the back of dumptrucks or down at McDonalds.

Actually, I have heard that policemen have been encouraged to stave of "meto" by loosing a few pounds. At the same time, however, I bet this guy's superiors had something else in mind when drawing up the guidelines.

Police is a force and public detail for protection of society. Committee has good intentions, but you can never look inside any cop what his intentions will be in the future. Cops should be trusted, but what can you does they take the wrong road and put themselves onto 'devils in details. Some of them are good and some are bad. Job that they are performing is an effect in their life. Selection of recruiting new rookies is very important with testing of their intelligence. You must not neglect them just because some of them are scratching off the track.

Police like to threaten people all the time. Sometimes extortion !!!! He probably told this girl, let's have sex or go to jail. Isn't this story about child prostitution ? He probably forced or blackmailed the girl to have sex in the police car. He probably put her in jail for not having sex with him. Police officers like controlling people.

In an ideal society, yes. In this country however, the police have proven time and time again that they cannot. Look at how many times people have come to the police for help, only to be laughed at/turned away then end up dead?

There is no defending this cop. However to blame his culture and his native country makes no sense to me. I think police all over the world have bad reputations: Rome, NYC, LA, London, Paris, Hong Kong, Ho Chi Minh City, et al; exactly because they watch each other and are responsible for each other. This is the trade off of the social contract, a little corruption from officials in exchange for public services. It beats living in a state of nature where its the law of tooth and fang.

Only if you can get a 17-year old in the car with you. Maybe just offer to teach her English?

I would guess that the age of consent is 18 in Kagoshima, so I don't know why that bit is glossed over. But as long as she was not forced or coerced, I don't really care. --Cirroc

If the officer is 21 years old I stand corrected in my previous comments. But if he is lets say 35 I stand by what I say. I dont know about your countries but if I am 35 and have sex with a 17 year old, most people would label me a pedophile...legal or not, consent or not.

This is why I like reading the news from countries outside where I live. I firmly believe that we're all pretty much the same. We've had this same scandal where I live in the wild west of the U.S. Cops here have been busted for this behavior twice. And, yes, by 17 a girl knows what's what, unless she's mentally slow. And sometimes girls love a man in a uniform, what can we say!

Nothing perverted about getting into a state of arousal over a 17 year old woman. Appeasement in a patrol car is a no no. If on the sidewalk or a park bench he would probably be forgiven. But a patrol car? Maybe they have bigger ones now. I could understand a '37 Packard or '42 Chrysler.
