Well, I would "re-arrange" Ichihashi's face for free if I met him...

The only good thing about this is that it has reminded people that this cowardly scum bag is still out there.

I don't care about what's gone before - let's hope that he gets well and truly shopped. Keep your eyes open.

How complicated all this is. If it is true that it is his family that is protecting him then for how long do they plan to do this? And how cruel it is to let Lindsay's parents suffer? Even if it is one's own child, any educated human being should understand that justice has to be meted out.

As I've already said in the related thread on this subject:

I wonder who paid for all that very expensive cosmetic surgery?

Ooooooh......could it be his extremely rich mother and father who have probably been helping him financially and otherwise for the past 2 years?

Nah...that would be just too obvious, wouldn't it?

(Sorry Smartacus but I'm with Thundercat on this one - blood is far thicker than water (or gaijin blood) in this country. The parents wouldn't think twice about helping him and, in this poor economy, I'm pretty sure the Yakuza would be more interested in the parental pay-off than in good PR.)

BTW If his plastic surgery and facial enhancements included blond hair and blue eyes, the police will probably pull him in soon for a faulty bicycle light and then - who knows - they may accidentally match up his finger-prints and claim a brilliant piece of police detective work!

Could Ichihashi look now like the guy who withdrew money from the ATM after a murder of a girl in chiba?

The first thing I thought when I saw the photo of the Chiba suspect was "Did this guy just have a nose operation? He looks like he is wearing some kind of mask."

Well nobody knows for sure if anything is being done about this sighting so it's really premature to say the cops bungled it up. Why not wait and see. Everyone here tends to think that they have all the answers when they are not really sure how much info the cops have that they don't know about.

After all this time, the Police don't have enough evidence to charge him with murder outright? In the US, he would have already been convicted in absentia. Then the noose will be ready for him when he gets there.

Well, I would "re-arrange" Ichihashi's face for free if I met him...

Exactely, they'd have to identify him from his dental records, if I catch him before coppers do.

Can't believe he's still in Japan.

I thought he would be smart enough to flee the country by now.

butterfly1, unfortunately your link is broken. No matter where I look, or whether I look for Hawker or 市橋 all I get is the usual pictures. Old ones, and this one silly new one. They really should show the world his actual photo, because someone might have SEEN the beggar and know where he's BEEN. Even if he's not still there he might have left some CLUES. You know, those funny little things COPS usually like. (Usually.)

Come on cops, show everyone his beardy face!

  • dammit at 07:27 PM JST - 6th November

Actually, does anyone know somewhere or some way we can petition the cops to do this properly?

This site may be used by us a lot, but I'm sure the Jcops have never heard of it.

  • dammit at 07:37 PM JST - 6th November

Plus, if they show people his beardy face, arrest him, and then find out it's actually some other person of unfortunate appearance then we'll all know this was a big mistake and that Ichihashi might not be living in Japan taking the mick out of the jcops.

  • butterfly1 at 08:39 PM JST - 6th November

damnit -- sorry if the link didnt work. the new photo is now on japan today --> he hasnt changed that much.

    i hope they catch him...

  • againstcrime at 06:10 PM JST - 7th November

  • Himajin at 03:42 AM JST - 11th November

Ichihashi's old man removed the stitches.

    Any proof of that?
