Man arrested for allegedly beating grandfather to death in Yokohama
KANAGAWA —
A 22-year-old man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly beating his 75-year-old grandfather to death at their home on May 16 in Yokohama, police said. Shinya Iriki, 22, was charged in the death of his grandfather Hiroshi Ishikawa, 75, with whom he lived.
Iriki, who had been on a nationwide wanted list, was found by police at a convenience store on Tuesday. He has been missing since the victim was found on May 20 by his mother, 53.
The suspect was quoted by police as saying, “We had an argument and I hit him.”
