20-year-old man held for beating girlfriend's baby in Miyazaki

MIYAZAKI —

A 20-year-old man was arrested on Thursday for beating the 11-month-old daughter of his girlfriend, 26, at her apartment. Koji Narimatsu, 20, was arrested for allegedly beating the baby around 8:40 p.m. on June 19 by swinging her around. The baby suffered a broken left leg.

The woman lives with her two daughters, but she was out at the time of the incident. She had asked her boyfriend to babysit. The kindergarten reported the child’s injuries to a local child consultation center, police said.

Narimatsu was quoted by police as saying, “I lost my temper because the baby wouldn’t stop crying.”

my son hardly had screaming fits when he was a baby and does not throw tantrums now as a toddler, but on the odd occasion when he has, I am very patient but tested...however, if I go to the likes of the zoo and hear a Japanese kid that has lost his rag screaming the house down....I gotta get outta there. They are the worst screaming kids I have ever heard and their parents have no idea how to stop them. my son just looks at them and says urusai na!

the point is that a 20 year old J-guy does not have the ability to babysit some other guys 11 month old baby. Its just impossible and disaster was sure to follow such a stupid decision to allow it to happen.

I'd love to swing this punk around by his head....

    Oh so typical...

This poor innocent kid, I'm sorry she has to be stuck with such losers as parents...

i gues they do not have any training on school, babies do cry a lot! the total disrespect for human life of these youngsters always surprises me.

I have also a temper, hit the wall, hand hurts, temper gone.

I kind of feel sorry for him, probably not a bad guy just way in over his head. he deserves a beating around the ears, but not hell. I mean, what does he know about stopping a baby from crying, nothing. He is barely out of nappies himself.

No, screw him, he's 20 fricken years old... This is the way people are raised in Japan, Not to beat kids, but to put off growing up until they are in their late 40's, and then some never grow up.

Whether he has the ability or not is not the issue. The fact that he'd do anything to hurt an 11 month-old toddler because he "lost his temper" is. What is more unsettling is that you seem to be defending this guy and even feel sorry for him.

    mindovermatter,

I can understand your sentiment but he is a 20 year old guy with a woman who has 2 kids to 1 or 2 different men and she dumped them on him. He should be out with his friends having fun, not baby sitting another mans kids. Emotionally at 20 that is a hard thing to bare. It is completely the wrong situation for him to be involved in an the mother should have known better than to take a 20 year old lover in her situation and then leave the kids with him. she can share some of the blame. In this way I feel sorry for him but of course there is no way any human should harm a baby. he deserves a jolly good kicking.

What a loser! He doesn't deserve anything, just a sentencee and getting the same treatment in jail.

  • RMGTTF at 03:43 PM JST - 4th July

I am with romulus3 the mother can't be considered completely innocent but the guy is to be seriously punished

    genjuro,

    > What is more unsettling is that you seem to be defending this guy and even feel sorry for him

    where am I defending him?

Of all the weird crimes reported here daily, this is the one I understand least. Beating a baby?? How can one even think of that? People who do that are not human and should be removed from the gene pool.

It does sound like some on this site are defending this string of whale poop and they should be given a little taste of what the 20-year-old deserves. I think the guy should have his head examined for many things, ie. whipping around a baby and getting involved with a 26-year-old with 2 kids. She certainly didn't force him to get involved. I mean really people. Get a clue.

So the baby shows up to kindergarten with a broken leg the next day to be reported.

Is this right? he injured the kid the night before and went to school broken, WTF you mean to tell me the mother didnt notice this. Sounds like she was covering for this guy as well.

Empathy is understandable to a certain degree, but this is not one of those degrees. This was an infant not even a year old. The man was a legal adult even by Japan's ridiculous standards. There is no rationalizing this type of situation. I am almost more sickened by the empathetic posts of the same vaginized bleeding hearts I am always having to tolerate on this websight than the article itself

  • romulus3 at 09:28 PM JST - 5th July

ohhh dear..understanding why something happened to ensure it does not happen again does not equal defending jerks. Get a life lynch mob

  • serindipity at 09:09 PM JST - 6th July

Yep, there is no justification or sympathy for anybody who can beat on a child, regardless of the situation or age of the offender. This guy is sick and needs to be evaluated although, he will just plead guilty and say he was stressed, then he'll get a warning and do it again.
