Police in Tsuruga, Fukui Prefecture, on Wednesday arrested a 53-year-old man on suspicion of burying the dead bodies of his mother and sister at his home.

According to police, the suspect, identified as Teruhiko Ikemi, 53, who works at a music instrument repair shop, has admitted to burying the bodies on Nov 28.

NTV reported that the bodies of his mother Kiyomi, 84, and his sister Reiko Takeoka, 56, were found buried beneath the tool shed on Tuesday after his sister's son reported her missing on Nov 29.

Police said autopsies will be conducted to determine the cause of death. Kiyomi had been suffering from dementia, Reiko's sister said.

Police said Ikemi told them the family had arguments after his father died in October about his inheritance. Ikemi lived with his mother.

I hope the charges will be updated to murder in the near future so he never gets to use any inheritance.
