Man arrested for killing 72-year-old father in Tokyo

Police on Sunday night arrested a 42-year-old man for killing his 72-year-old father at their house in Nerima Ward, Tokyo.

Masaru Sugimura, 42, was arrested for allegedly beating and stabbing his father, Toru, 72, to death around Friday afternoon and Saturday evening. The suspect was found and arrested by police near Kamishakuji station on Sunday morning.

According to police investigations, the victim had been beaten to the face and stabbed in the neck with a pair of scissors. The victim was found by one of his grandchildren, a child of the suspects sister, in his room on the second floor of the house at around 5 p.m. on Saturday.

The suspect has admitted the allegations. Police are continuing their investigations to ascertain a motive for the crime.

Profile this case, lets see. He lost his job, had disagreements with his family and his father was critising him on his life.

Seems like a motive to murder his father. He will probably apologize to the family tomorrow night for his bad decision and quick anger.

If not that, probably suicide later because of his shame and have a Sayonara note left behind to apoligize.

I feel sorry for the grandchild who found his grandfather murdered and then finds out his father did it. This poor kid might the messed up for the rest of his life. Sad, just sad.

Read carefully. The kid who discovered the victim is the suspect's niece/newphew. None the less, I feel sorry for the kid too.

For the victim it is his grandchild so oggidoggie is correct (well it could be a female).

Unless you are implying the parents of the kid who discovered the victim are siblings.
