Man arrested for stabbing girlfriend to death in Yamagata
YAMAGATA —
Police said on Tuesday arrested a man for stabbing his girlfriend to death at their apartment in Sakata City, Yamagata Prefecture, on Sunday. The suspect also tried to commit suicide by stabbing his stomach.
Takuya Suzuki, 25, currently in hospital, was arrested for allegedly stabbing his girlfriend Rie Suzuki, 25, to death at their apartment around 7 a.m. According to police, the suspect’s boss found the victim killed when he visited the apartment because the suspect didn’t show up for work. The suspect was found by police on the beach, carrying a blood-stained knife in a bag.

Lot of murder victims are being found by their boss when the victims don't show up for work. I've never had a boss that concerned about my wellbeing to come if I were absent.

the timeworn japanese lame attempt to 'stab his stomach' and die 'nobly' after committing murder. the next stabbing this 25 year old child gets wont be in the stomach, and it wont be a knife if you catch my drift...

does this pattern of crimes have something to do with the romanticization of suicide and murder suicides in classical Japanese literature perhaps? When young people are taught that murder-suicide in the name of love is beauty of a higher order, especially during impressionable teenage years, its not surprising to see the trend continue in real life. Just like in America with gun violence reflecting the action movie industry, and my own country, where there are wannabe gangsters trynig to emulate American popculture through hiphop etc... Just a thought
