Man arrested for vandalizing monument in front of Fukui police station
FUKUI —
Police on Tuesday arrested a 47-year-old man for vandalizing a stone monument in front of the prefectural police headquarters. Kazuo Jimbo is suspected of using black spray paint to paint the words “aho” and “baka” (stupid, idiot) on a brown 2.6-meter-wide and 1-meter-tall stone engraved with the words “Fukui Prefectural Police” on Sept 22, 2009.
According to police, Jimbo was caught in the act by security cameras, and investigators are currently trying to determine if he may have any connection with a similar crime committed last June.

Aren't Japanese names normally presented "Family name, first name"? If so, then Jimbo is his first name. Maybe he was born in Alabama? :-)
Makes you wonder about his thought process, though. "I want to insult the police" is obvious. But what does it say about the police when he can perform the act in front of the Prefectural Headquarters and not get caught until they look at a security tape? Is there no one in the headquarters 24/7?
