Police in Aomori said Thursday they have arrested an unemployed 37-year-old man over the murder of a woman who managed a restaurant in Aomori City.
According to police, the body of Hatsue Kawamura, 59, who managed Daiyasu restaurant in Sentomimachi, was found by a customer in the restaurant at around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Fuji TV quoted police as saying that Kawamura had various puncture wounds in her neck, caused by a knife or some other sharp object. The victim most likely died from excessive blood loss from the major arteries.
Investigators said they found no evidence of a struggle or a break-in, adding that the restaurant door was unlocked.
Police said that the suspect, identified as Kenichi Okubo, turned himself in at a nearby police station just before midnight Wednesday. Police said he brought a bloodied knife, believed to be the murder weapon, with him in a bag, Fuji reported.
Police said that Okubo has so far given no motive for the crime.

all the staff at her restaurant should have been carrying guns and she might still be alive.
