Police in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture, said Sunday they have arrested a 50-year-old man on suspicion of murdering his unemployed 48-year-old son-in-law by stabbing him with a piece of a broken golf club.

According to police, the suspect, Yukio Suzuki, stabbed his son-in-law, Yoshinori Suzuki, at around 4:45 p.m. Saturday in a car parking lot outside his (Yukio's) home, Sankei Shimbun reported. The victim was taken to hospital where he died from loss of blood about two hours later.

Police were alerted by a neighbor who saw Yoshinori bleeding from the head and chest in the driver's seat of his car.

Yukio, who was found at the scene of the crime with the piece of the golf club, has admitted to the crime, but has so far not given any motive, police said.

Rough for the daughter to be stuck in the middle of this.

I don't necessarily like jumping to conclusions or making assumptions... but a 50 year old man with an unemployed 48 year old son in law... rather speaks for itself, no?

Is it just coincidence they are both called Suzuki? It would have been nice to know.

"Man arrested over murder of son-in-law in Aichi"

Oh my goodness, what a sad and terrible story to read here today, perhaps it could have been a wonderful long Japanese marriage, and family life? Sorry to read the the father mentally exploded into a violent uncontrollable murderous rage, so sad to read about a tragic incident like this that occurred in Aichi, Toyota City, Japan

I'm not condoning his actions, but if my son-in-law were only 2 years younger than me and unemployed, I probably wouldn't be a big fan of his either.

That I did.

Your antagonist has a difficult time with math.

So, what do you reckon? Was he leeching from his father-in-law? Or his wife? Or both of them? I'm not defending the murder, but this guy must have been a real scumbag! He was unemployed, had a wife of at least twenty years younger than him and was a round the same age as his father-in-law. Sounds like a scumbag leech to me! Id say the world won't miss him, but the daughter will miss her father while he's doing time.

One wonders how old the daughter is.

That's an extreme decision to take somebody's life. Didn't he approve the marriage beforehand? It's a sad situation for both families. May they find peace within themselves.

Pretty sure it wasn't planned. I mean... stabbed with the shaft of a broken golf club?

That means THE MOTHER must be in her 70s so I don't know how it managed to last this long. How could the 'family' even look at each other over the dinner table. I would not be able to keep my food down...

Yuk!!

Please explain the logic behind this conclusion.
