Police suspect the man was murdered over drug deals.

Case solved already. Even though they don't know the name or even nationality of the victim? Great work officers!

This is in some part due to foreigners. Increased drug use among students and foreigners is a bad thing. I don't see how anyone could argue with that, but I am sure some will. So I will say again. If you are a gaijin who uses or sells drugs in Japan, stop, or go home. You are pathetic.

And if you are Japanese and believe that all of the drugs sold in this country are not 99% controlled by your own Japanese yakuza, then you too are pathetic. Keep blaming Johnny Foreigner eh yasukuni. Yasukuni ? Well that makes sense.

Breaking news Police say that the man committed suicide. So case closed, nothing to look at here keep walking....

This has drugs written all over it. Whether it was the locals (the yakuza) protecting there patch or not remains to be seen. It could have just as easily been a disagreement between two groups of foreign nationals who were dealing in something.

For those who think it's farfetched that anyone would leave the drugs in the car, about 20 years ago two yakuza gangs had a turf war in Fukuoka. One day, a gangster was shot and almost killed. The next day a member of the opposite gang was stopped for speeding and, wow, drugs were found in his trunk. When has any cop ever looked in your trunk when you were caught for speeding? The cops don't even go close to your car, for crying out loud. The police said a 'tip off' had been received that the gangster had a gun. (No gun was found.)

No, I just think it's farfetched that the guy was left for dead in his car with the drugs and Y740,000 still next to him.

Looks like it was no deal. Maybe the product was no good, the buyer complained and got shot for it. Or it could have been staged to look like a drug deal. Why would anyone leave all that cash?

we don't know if it was drugs related for alle we know one of his Girlfriends was not happy with the LV bag he bought for her.

Why would anyone leave all that cash?

A strong desire to get bullet wounds taken care of immediately, while carrying no connection to the crime. --Cirroc

North London. Okay if yakuza control 99% as you say, then I say that foreigners should stop controlling the other 1% if your figures are accurate. But, one day, tell me how you arrived at the 99% figure.

If he is a foreign national, certainly cops can tell us by now if he is Brazilian, Somalian or Nigerian. They are all tall, and you can spot them from far away. In my view, Japan you have a colossal problem with drugs. What are you going to do about? 'There's the rub; DECLARE WAR ON DRUG LORDS, DON'T WAIT ANY LONGER.'

  • northlondon at 09:20 PM JST - 10th November

    yasukuni,

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out that drug dealers in Japan either work for the yakuza, pay a commission to the yakuza, or are the yakuza. If you are none of the above then you are either very lucky and stupid (the 1%), or you are dead.

It would be interesting to hear in what area the other foreigner was hit with gunfire. Was this a right-hand drive or left-hand-drive car? Was the deceased the driver in a left-hand drive car and was shot in the right shoulder and armpit by the passenger? Was the deceased shot by someone in the back seat and the other was also shot but not fatally? Was it only a 2 person shootout? We need more information.

not many handguns in Japan, mostly only in the hands of the yaks. Drug deal gone bad sounds about right.

  • usaexpat at 05:31 AM JST - 11th November

northlondon you are correct and yaskuni is off base. Foreigners don't just come here and set up shop running drugs. If they don't have the blessing of the Yaks who control the racket they will be found dead very soon after commencing operations.
